  1. Get new ones.

But do skids first obviously. All in the name of science

For science sake i will do my best!

Pump the tyres up to 40+ psi, do a skid, post skid vid on os, buy some new tyres.

Sounds like a plan to me, just need to find somewhere to do it, not keen on loosing my licence....

  2. So after taking it for a big spin last night i found it definitely has some big flat spots in the tyres from sitting so long....

Serious question, Will a nice little skid even them out or am i better to buy new ones?

Bear in mind it had been siting for around 3 years on these tyres and they were dead flat when i went to look at it....

  3. haha was next to you at service station today - BP hoon hay right??

    Haha yea that was me

Useless fact of the night I just remembered, Savannas have the radio aerial in the windscreen, and I've heard something about the doors either having or not having side intrusion bars (they have the opposite of what the rest of the world got, I forget which way around this is and not sure if legit info or not).

also, WHOOP WOF, I vote keep those wheels too.

I can have a looking the weekend and get back to you.. if defintlely has aerial in window

I would keep them but they stick a we bit out of the guards, worried the 5-0 might not like it

  4. is this the one that got pinched? you got it back ?

Yea it was... Got it back all intact,  bar a missing rego label...must have been some kids as school holidays had just started..

Wasn't holding my breathe to get it back but am very happy i did!

love the wagon such a cool shape! be a handy cheap to run daily

Yea ive had like 5 of these during my time, love the shape and yea nice and cheap to get around town...

  5. Back in the day they had one that had "Buckle up" on it. Scratched off the sides and the bottom of the B and scratched off the le and had Fuck Up.

But I agree, some OS branded ones would be mean as! Little external header with the URL and the wagon logo on the inside!

    Car still has one...

  6. Thought i might as well make a project thread for my daily

Trying as hard as i can to not make it a project but theres always things i want to do with it...

The car started off very similar to the Rx7..i brought it off a mate who had lost interest in it and got it for a bargain.....

Unfortunately i don't have any pictures of when i got it but imagine if you will a wagon covered in primer patches almost creating a type of camo paint job, running a engine that was as close as a K series engine will get to blowing a big end.....

the weekend i brought it i panel and painted it.... unfortunately i ran out of paint and the drivers side ended up a bit on the thin side .....

I then set about finding the missing parts i needed including a replacement 3k engine...i found that you can no longer buy a 3k/4k for a box of beers, Toyota tax seemed to have gone up 10 fol....

i ended up scoring a nice little 3k out of a starlet from a member from Club-k

whipped that in and it was away (timing chain could do with replacing but still a solid runner)

The lads at Pine engineering have some 13x7 0 offset SSR MK3s i'm looking at, but i am unsure on how they will look on the car.....couldn't find any pictures of a Series 1s with Mk3s or similar fitted...any body have pictures?

  8. So i read the whole "rotary piner thread", searched google and the forum, and im still not 100% sure on what oil i should be using??

Its in need of its first oil change, currently has unknown oil in it, but was told it was oil for running in...

What would you rotary fiends recommend running?

Edit....Scrap that i just seen Rookies post

  9. No need to ask for forgiveness. Yeah its a naming thing, JDM spec Rx-7s were Savanna Rx-7s, the rest of the world just got the straight Mazda Rx7.

The difference is that the Savannas were a little bit flasher/had some differences such as:

    - Fender Mirrors,

    - 'Savanna Rx-7' badges on the front guards which have 3 pins on them rather than 2 that are on standard 'Mazda Rx-7' badges

    - Chrome rear number plate lights, rest were just black

    - see the two stripes above the inner door handles on the door cards, thats the twin chrome piping, it runs across the bottom of the dash, you can see it in your pics     either side of the centre console, it will also be on the 3/4 panels either side of the rear seats, this was a savanna interior thing.

Theres something else they have but I can't remember. anyway I carjammed your plate, it was imported from Japan in 1990, so it will be.

also looks like you have series 3 front seats, wait for Ed to say he wants them or something :P

Sweet, i had planned on fitting some fender mirrors to it anyway, just makes it a little more fitting

Any thing else you can notice or tell me about it haha?  :-D

  10. That looks like a Savanna based on the chrome rear number plate lights and the twin chrome piping on the dash/door cards. poke your head under the front guards and see if its had fender mirrors shaved and/or 3 holes where the guard badges would be filled in (behind front wheels)

Forgive my ignorance but if it does turn out to be a Savanna what does that mean, is it just a naming convention like Cedric/Gloria?
