  1. One week of owning it and have had a few little issues

    1. head lights decided not to work on way home from work (was dark and I got more than a few fingers and people yelling at me to turn my lights on )got an auto sparkie to look at it cost me $64 to rewire whole thing which I didn’t think was to bad.

    2. Day after getting head lights fixed water pump decided to blow its seals, brought a brand new one $75 and got a new clutch kit and spark plugs while I was in the fixing mood

So that’s pretty much how my first week played out, could have been worse I suppose

  2. tbh, i love it as is, looks fat... you should have some sill panels folded up and stitch them to the tray to keep the lines flowing.... i love b16z, hearty

yea i have already looked into this there is a bagged b1600 that has done it and it makesthe lines of the Ute look some much better.

although it doesn't look like it in the pics it does have a few dents.me being the picky person i am i want to have it as straight as i can.

Are you from hams or did you buy this from here?

hey no, im from Christchurch, was on trade me

  3. my imediate plan is to tidy it up (panel wise) so will begin sanding it and panel beating it this weekend. its at the auto sparkies at the moment getting the headlights looked at. it keeps blowing fuses

what the finish product will look like at this stage im looking at A nice dark red paint slamed on white walls

  4. little bit of an update

Managed to fire her up .... chucked a bit of gas down carburetor , some new gas in tank and 5 minutes later away see went not bad for having being sitting in a shed for long time.motor does smoke a bit but seems to go well but will check it out properly when i pull motor and box out.

also gave it a good clean out not as much rust as i expected so that's a bonus

this week should see the starting on some of the panel work depending on how much time i have after work

  5. well i after nearly half a year of talking i finally picked this sweet wee Te38 E/5 wagon up

Its a Left hand drive import that came from U.K but being left hand drive i have a hunch it started life some where else

it has been registered in New Zealand before so that makes things a lot easier for me

its running full T series running gear standard

    2T-C T-50 and T series rear end

along with a lot of other little gauges and things like that not seen on a Ke36

my plan is to fully restore it back to original (roof racks and all:))

    here's a few pics
