Bring it to Tony's on Saturday, I'm keen for a geeze.
Will probably be up there next weekend bro. Will throw some more pics up when it arrives
-
Should have this up at mine at the start of next week!
Gotta bit of cash lying around right now so will be getting alot of shit done quickly I hope.
LOL dont worry there will be no painting haha, apart from a few bits that need to be straightened out and repainted.

Teaser... New page, new car.
-
Woops sorry, will edit it now

Yo, need a car brought up to Northshore, Auckland from Lower Hutt. I made enquires at about 6 different freight companies and the cheapest I could get is $550 which I thought was a bit ridiculous.
Anyone keen to bring it up for me for around $400?
It is a 1982 Mitsi Mirage and will need to be trailered up as the engine is shanked.
Has no current wof or rego but I think the rego's on hold (just ran out though otherwise).
If it was drivable I was gonna fly down and drive it up but unfortunately I cant .
Would be primo If someone would be able to bring it up but if noones keen i'll have to fork out the extra cash and get it freighted which would be a bummer.
Chur, Tai.

Oh the one on point chev road with like 5 parked in front?
-
Cheers guys but decided i'm not gonna bother with it. Keep on getting side tracked from other shit and dont want to end up with three cars again and seeing as we just sold our house and will be moving in the next 3-4 weeks haha

Check boot for rust.
A grand sounds way too much.
If you want to go manual you will have to fight AE86 owners for gearboxes and bell housings = everythings over priced.
The motor is probably a 1S.
Really? thought it would really easy and cheap to get the parts :S
Did look through the boot. There's ALOT of surface rust but doesnt look like anything bad.
If I was to go for it i'd offer $600 and wouldnt raise past $750.
Its the 1.8L carby.

Just checked this out.
The problems...
-Charging issues (maybe because its been sitting for a few months).
-Most of the door handles jam up.
-Leak in the front passenger side (couldnt identify where it was coming from)
-Leak in the boot (Boot seal is fucked).
-Heater/fan doesnt work.
-Several seat tears.
-Dings here and there and F/L corner lamp isnt mounted (maybe the mounts broken).
-Glove box is jammed shut.
Good points...
-Engine seems to run very well and Auto trans shifts smoothly.
-Looks as if the bushes have been replaced on the lower rear brace.
-Overall the body appears to be structuraly sound. Didnt have a thorough check but the worst of the rust was a little bit appearing around the top of the rear window and surface rust in the boot.
I'm pretty keen on having another look before I make an offer, do you guys know of any common faults with these corona's, any specific area's that get cancer fucked ect.
-
Nope its one parked up on a road. Looks like a sack of shit, can see surface rust here and there but overall condition looks OK.
1000ono so pretty keen on trying to get it for cheaper and maybe putting anew engine + converting it to manual.
Edit: Kind of contradicting myself by saying it looks like a "sack of shit" then "ok" haha. Looks like something I could tidy up easy haha
-
Its going for cheap so gonna check it out.
Anything i need to look out for in particular? rust ect...
It's an auto 1.8 (dont know what engine it is).

Wtf corolla is this? never seen it before but its fucking awesome

So decided to fire this cunt up today and take a few pics.
Over the last month or so Ive had my dads mate do a bit of panel work and straighten out all the tiny dings throughout. Over the few months that it had been sitting the battery had fucked out even though its pretty new which sucks and wont hold a charge anymore (chevettes dont really have the best alternators so if i can be bother i might try adapt something else), the fanbelt snapped which is out of it cause it was pretty new aswell and wasnt too tight or too loose and I cant get the car to idle. Thought it it was due to there being too much fuel in the air/fuel mixture but i leaned it out which didnt make a difference and the timing was all good so im not too sure what else would make it do this? will look into it.
Also the lock barrel for the drivers door has jammed up and the master actuator for the central locking has shat itself. Not looking to good right now but easy fixes ay haha.
Picture time..
Some paint cracking that I need to sand out
Now that i've sold the mirage I can afford my course books and some paint for the beast haha. Gotta do a bit more sanding, re primer then i'll be throwing some GM aquarious on

black rock type 8.
quicktriks will look silly

So sad to see this sack of shit go, after having it for the last 3 and learning how to drive manual in it. Gone up to Whanagrei now.
Atleast i've got coin to get some $400 worth of uni books now and get the chevette painted. Once I sell another car and have some more de neiro's i'll try pick up a minter. Know of a few that i'll be approaching in primo as condition.
For the mean time i'll just be updating on engine stz hehe.
Churrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hey bro I nice lancer. I think that if you want to make your own coilovers and get them certed, they have to be sent away to be crack tested which is quite expensive.
-
Just go to BNT, they should have em or be able to get you them.
May even be easier to buy a new clutch master n slave.
With my Corolla a slave cylinder rebuild ket was $27 and a new one was $32.

Heres a few pics of 0trctn I took at the 4&rotarys.

A bit of inspiration.

so you think they sold me a faulty voltage reg, or the incorrect one?
Will run the old one but I'm just a bit worried incase the same shit happens as im not keen on frying the wire again on the otherside of auckland (although I can just disconnect it then roll start but the battery wont charge)
-
My corolla started having starting problems a week ago which i initially thought was caused by the starter solenoid so got it and the starer motor tested and they were working sweet. All of a sudden a few days after, I went to start up the car and it didnt turn over but instead the wire that runs from the alternator to the voltage regulator burnt through.
So I had the alternator checked then reconditioned as it needed to be, replaced the melted wire, cleaned all the terminals and replaced the regulator.
The car now starts up first pop but the new regulator causes the battery voltage to charge up and increase a hell of alot more quickly and higher, compared to the old one and after a few minutes it starts to smoke up.
Old Regulator raises to 14.56v over a few mins - New Regulator raises past 15v in about 2/3s of the time.
I swapped the old regulator back in and it still started up after holding the key for a few seconds which is sweet but im worried as its quit dodgey and might cause the wire to burn through again.
Can anyone one tell me why the new regulator is getting too hot and starting to smoke?
Thanks, Tai

From what I hear, they've brought in a new emissions standard/regulation thingy for certs when swapping an engine. Does anyone have legiti knowledge about this?
-
Havent really done anything at all since before xmas but I started getting stuck in today.
Managed to get all the bolts, nuts and other stz on the frontside of the engine electroplated and coated with gold passivate which turned out quite nice. Also did all the sump bolts 'n' shit but some of them were in the shadow of the others and need to be recoated.
Heres also some picks of the bits I picked up a while ago and the link ecu.
Gsr Injectors
Some 6cyl Merc fuel rail that needs to be cut and re-threaded (the injector positions lined up perfectly to the ports on the stock intake manifold.
Fuel pump, not sure whats it off but should pump at over 50psi which will do the job sweet as.
Comparison of the old and new throttle bodies
And the ECU and loom
Over the next week im gonna try strip out the engine bay in the mirage and get all the nuts & bolts ready for a new coat and try get some sanding started.
