which celica gt4 is cheap? i thought st205s were getting pricey

I think the st185 spec ones aren't to bad. assuming its not a special group a / carlos sainz spec one.

My partner had a st202 celica Which was the same spec as the curren you described.

Handled really well and had the perfect pedal box spacing for heel/ toe downshifts.

A+ would hoon one again.

Does the xr8 have epically bad fuel economy ? i read somewhere they were getting over 20L per 100km when new.

Later this year i'm selling up my 2.5 v6 grand Vitara for something a bit bigger and churbo diesel. 

So far my research into 4 cylinder turbo diesels has suggested that a 2nd Gen 3.2 TD Pathfinder/Terrano is probably going to the one worth getting (for me anyway)

other notable suggestions are 2.8TD Mitsi Challengers or  high k 1kz Surfs.

I would love a landcruiser or safari but can't justify the substantial buy in cost of these as its going to spend most of the time trucking around to and from work. 

I have also not considered anything petrol as it seems most jap v6s have big block like fuel requirements

I can only assume/hope you have seen the wagon attack you tube videos.

I know I have seen this setup on TV before- there was a race (I'm sure it was to do with Bathurst) and the undercar cam showed it in operation- I think they said it was as far as they could take that axle setup to stay within class rules.

Driving me nuts because I can't find more on it.
