Have we thought about a new venue?
Says the guy with no legal, running cars who only ever showed up to two events in his 10 odd years of OSness.

I'd also chuck Lyndale in the mix. I've only just started dealing with them but they've got an immaculate shop and have been awesome to deal with. Had my ute with them over lockdown and while waiting for parts to arrive, really good knowledge and legit guys.

really into those things these days.

Yeah, where that linked one has acorn plate, his has a set of spark plugs in the fire wall. He's gone pretty hard on the accuracy.

Looked very similar but it had the cowls off so couldn't 100% confirm. In a way the radiator looked smaller, and the wheels were dished differently, quite true to the originals. He'd done an amazing job of hiding the discs in fake drums and I think he'd sourced original headlights and whatnot. He also had the distributor set up in the dash as per original and could manual advance or retard it with the adjacent lever. He has a couple of Morgans, one with an S&S engine, another with a hot rodded CX500 engine, a TR3 a couple of other things under tarps. Supreme Barry of the Finestkind.

Just googled XE Falcon guard to find a reference image for where the Alloy Head badges should go on the guards and my own images came up. It's a restoration inception.
I made some shit the other day, but i tend to slap it on insta instead of trying to do imagehosting.

On my travels today I found myself in a little Newton basement where a fella was working on a Bugatti rep. I don't know enough about them and didn't ask the model, but it was running a 3S toyota engine and not far off finished. He told me a bit of the story about acquiring it and having bought it off the guy who started it who he'd known for years. Is there a secret Bugatti underground?

Go full overkill?
Legitimate business expense, right?

Now I want to put some circles in it and create venturis, and maybe see if i can space it up another few mm.

Bit of both: The off the shelf one is a thick gasket, but I can cut something that insulates and add some gasket paper.
Would the formica hold up to fuel? -
4/5mm.
The googling i did suggested it was some form of special material.

She took it when she left.

I've been waiting on a gasket out of oz that's taking way too long and thought why not just try make my own (I have a laser cutting mate and I'm bored).
It's sposed to be a phenolic plastic thing - I'm trying to get my head around the types, and where would I source some from. Anyone got protips?
-
Yeah buy it!
Parked at the GF's for a while... -
I have a Spanish mate whose best friend is in a camper down in Christchurch.
She's wanting to park her camper somewhere so she can jump a plane back here. Looking for recommends on good places to leave it that'll be secure, or better yet, is there any chance someone can accomodate a camper for a month or so? Maybe a workshp or yard that's going to be locked up anyway?

Carb rebuild kit on courier.
2x LCAs on a boat.
Pitman Arm ordered.
Extractors acquired.
This really escalated.
-
I already got a quote from them. Shopping around for comparo. Everyone says good things about them. Just doing due diligence. And being a miser.
EDIT - Adding prices for reference:
Pit Stop ballpark for standard system $580
Autobend components for a complete system: $526.54
Solved that problem. New problem; If I chuck on extractors I should really take the exhaust size up - Difference being tubing cost nearly doubles...

Wow, that's awesome, I never knew this existed.
And facebook seems to have found me some extractors just down the road.

Morning All,
So I dropped the XE at the mechanic because I've kinda given up on having the time/inclination and i just wanna drive the bitch. Of course, he gave it a solid going over and found umpteen faults to charge me for. Fair enough, so now I need help with a couple of things
I need the complete exhaust system for my XE ute replaced. Any recommends (other than PitStop Westgate) for peeps in West Akl to look at it. And what should I be expecting to pay - complete std size thing with a new muffler.
If anyone has a set of extractors for a 4.1 sitting around they want to sell me, now would be a good time to tell me. I could do it all at once.
Is anyone a shock absorber genius? I'm wanting to know if XE coon shocks are the same as 66-73 Mustangs in the front - I have to get some LCAs (same as Mustangs) and thinking of going ex RockAuto, so might get shocks too. Failing that are those budget jobs on trademe worth getting?
Thank you kindly.

The best bit was him throwing a hissyfit and selling it to me for cheap, me fixing it, and then telling him I was going to sell it for profit.
Did I mention teens are retards?

Aucklands Anon Burger meet!!
in Upper North Island Region
Posted
What about we divide auckland into N/S/E/W and do small monthlys - all on the same night but different areas - and then every quarter we do a bigger Auckland meet where all 4 quarters unite. Like Voltron. But cooler. And no token pink one. Because fuck PC. And all the girl OSers left.
