Alright gents and not gents.
New YouTube adventure is live. This is an entirely new channel.
Video is about that DISGUSTIN Harley that had half you fellas all hot and bothered a few weeks back.
This guy put holes in my boob a few years back. Spent about fours hours doing it, chatting all the time and I never noticed the stutter at all.
My name's Mike and that is my Bosch Bradley story. Thanks for listening.- 1

why has no one suggested just doing the obvious R1 USD fork/front end conversion yet?

I arranged a stag on the weekend. The stripper showed up and I held the photo the booker had sent me up to her and asked her where the girl I booked was. She was the same girl, but with a lot more miles. I don't know why this comes to mind.

http://www.mac-coating.co.nz/html/contact_us.html for the powder coating.
https://www.wrs.co.nz/ for the complete machining and painting job.
Interestingly they also hire out their paint booth (full size setup) for $300 a half day

I've had quotes of $60each to powder coat (120 to two tone them like I want to) and $160 each to get them machined on the edges and painted in the centre.

Name (first is sweet): Simon
Location: Wellingtonish
Cars you own: 1978 MGB, 1937 Austin 7 special, 1930 Riley Brooklands being built
Mods to them (can be brief or detailed): MGB is restored and road legal and my main car (and was documented on this blog years ago _ https://www.asciimation.co.nz/pics).
Austin 7 is finished enough to try to get road legal (which is a nightmare). I used to have a blog for that but my web host lost it (and the backups)!
Riley Brooklands is being built and is probably never going to be able to be registered if my Austin 7 experience is anything to go by but I do ramble on about building it a lot on YouTube. If you search for Pre War Car Riley Brooklands you'll probably find many films of me being confused by things like vintage clutches, torque tubes and cable brakes and the like.
Pictures (Either attach the files here or use an image hosting website):
How you found out about oldschool: Searching for help and advice on registering/certing.
Anything else you want to add: I don't think there are many vintage/pre war people on here but the way things are going getting ANY car built or modified and on the road is getting more and more difficult so we should all work together not matter what our particular tastes are.
I found your MG build page years ago, it made me try convince my mate to give me the one she has in her shed> You also made the Bender brew machine, right? Add some of your back catalogue of awesome projects - they're perfect OS stuff, people will love it!

Like, I'm guessing its a no, but how fragile is it? What are the risks of flaking and whatnot?

Is paint as durable?

My XE snowflakes are blasted, and I need to give them some shiney. Whats best, and who is good in West Akl to make them look better than my shitty home garage paint job?
-
Thats what I thought, thanks, some old duffer was telling me to buy rego because covid, and then I'd avoid the dreaded shitty VTNZ pickapart
-
I grew a pair and drove it.
but will probs use this Koru dude for sending it down the line.
Cheersssssssss- 4

Can someone confirm or refute that I have to take my car to a VTNZ for a wof when I want to take it off hold? Or can any garage do the wof? Please and thanks, your friend, Mike.

Thats about it really. I have more cars to move than time to drive.. justfro Deep west to central west.

Tasman 20 was designed by Alan Wright, who designed my old boat also. You'll see his name attached to an extraordinary number of NZ yachts. Mostly they go by other names (Tasman, Variant, Lotus, Tracker etc), unlike a lot of other NZ designed boats.
Very cool that your boat was built with the guys who developed the Nolex design too. That's another Kiwi classic. Apparently Nolexs have been used to circumnavigate.
I did a quick google, which didn't reveal anything, but on the offchance do you know if Alan Wright was also trained an architect? There was an architects firm in the sixties called Warwick & Wright, and Warwick went on to build superyachts, wondering if Wright did too? That'd be amazing. They designed my house.

Thats pretty impressive. I remember I was about 10 and built a Tamiya Virago. Some mate of the family was around and pointed out I set the levers at the wrong angle. Dont let any shitc;^t do that. Looks awesome!

Just browsed that site. Didn't realise how expensive that hobby has got.
-
I've been researching it for ages, but like Cletus said, until the costs come down it's a bit of a pipedream - because it is pretty much a besoke job for every car it's going to stay costly unless you can find some modularity sort of thing, then costs might come down.
For example EV West in the states do a lot of VW/Porsche repowers and released a bolt in SBC engine conversion last year. But still at the spendy end, and every car is going to need a bespoke battery set up.Unless we just creative commons the designs...

Ask me about the place I spent over 2k with to get my ute up to wof standard who after taking all that then said they didn't really want to do a wof on it coz they were getting audited soon.
Actually don't ask me. I'm still pissed off.
