  7. 3g to buy engine and do myself, im veering towards a 4age out of an ae86. around 1.5 and then the rest for brakes shocks wiring etc
  8. 1977 mk2 and i was wondering on some options for engine transplant, and info on them. i have had options such as 4age, mx5, 2l cortina, but im just not sure, im not after incredible power or anything(not saying im not looking), just something that runs well and can go the distance. money isnt too much of a problem, but i would be looking closely after around $3k. ideas?

    dissy talk

    hi all, i have the kent 1600 OHV in my mk2 escort. i have the 751 F-12100-AA dissy and i need a new one. is the one out of the 1300 compatible (s/n: 71 BB-12100-AMB). they both have the same static advance: 10 BTDC. any ideas? my suspicions are it might have a different power output. that right?
  11. good to see replies and some good info. being an air force boy i have had a fair bit of study and work over the last week and a bit, so not much looked at, talking to one of the SGTs who is an encyclopaedia of knowledge, im probably gonna take in the dissy to the workshop and get the machinists to have a look and see if they can manufacture anything. total cost: 1doz (hopefully. and the materials)

  13. quick question which id assume would happen to a few people. my fuel gauge is haunted i think: i fill it up and it sits at 3/4 for then starts to go down, it gets to about 1/2 and then screws around and tells me its empty. i know for a fact its not. is this a bad earth or just a crappy measuring probe?

  15. another issue, yay. my hazard light switch on my 77 mk2 was playing up, so i took it out to have a look and unfortunately it self destructed. i managed to find most of the stuff, but now my indicators stopped working. does anyone have a way to bypass the hazard lights to get the indicators working or even better have a schematic for the inside of the switch?

  19. hey all, i got myself a MK2 Escort, really good condition, minimal rust but the distributor is rooted, the shaft bushing has gone, which i spose happens with age. anyway, the question, how do i go about putting an electronic dissy in? ive heard an old jap one will work like a sentra/sunny . has anyone else done this and put it on a post somewhere? or even if you have better suggestions that would be golden. thanks.
