Hey mate I used to build these very often a few years ago when they weren't so expensive!
Wheels were always my biggest issue when it came to building them. If you are unlucky and don't have the original wheels it can be difficult to get something that fits.
Is your rear wheel plastic? I may have a spare rim and tire for the front, but I will have to check on that.
If you pay for shipping, that can get expensive, you can get some very nice bits from OMBwarehouse in the states. Mag wheels, sprockets, you can get everything for a classic minibike and its all good stuff. I used to buy from them often.
PM me if you need a hand with anything else!
Cheers man, i'm hoping of picking something up in nz rather than buying from the states etc, if i cant find anything suitable then ill look outside NZ, the rear wheel is steel.
My plan at this stage is just to get the wheels and brakes sorted, then make a bush for the "steering stem", then just thrash until i want to change out the honda 50cc for more danger -

Keep an eye out for one of those cheap shitty chinese 50cc quad bikes with front disc set up and use the front wheel off one. Can pick up whole bikes for sub $50 and then you'll have 3x skid tires as well.
cheers man i didnt think of that, will look into it

I recently picked up a Tru Test mini bike.
What options are out there for wheels? i'm pretty happy with the rear wheel setup 4.00 - 5 with a meaty off road style tyre, id like to change the front which is a kids bicycle type setup with a disc brake setup.
is there any fatter front wheel setups i can use with a front brake also or will i need to change both setups to run some kind of brake? maybe the likes of a scooter?
i have read through Adooms thread from back in 2014 and see people have mentioned rex wheels and storm parts.
Throw some options at me, a brake somewhere would be ideal and some fat tyres
Cheers- 5

Hey there, i've had a bit of a search through the lvvta website and searched on this forum but havent found the answers im looking for,
what i want to know, will a low backrest and no head rest seat go through cert? same as the links provided below, nzkw classic recliner and racetech seat. as i am looking at replacing unknown brand large bucket seats and not looking for a full on race looking seat.
racetech seat
NZKW seat
Next question is, what requirements or standards do seatbelts need to be built too? my rear belts have paint on them and drivers belt has light fraying so i am looking at replacing the lot with a set from Pac performance, there's no details on their site about what standards the belts are made too and i have not received a reply by email form them yet, link to belts below
Seatbeltsany info is much appreciated. cheers

Hey dudes and dudettes.
In February ill be coming up from dunedin for the lawnmower (rotary) convention at taupo motorsport park. Have got 3 days to get to taupo then after the event got 6 days to get too chch. From taupo i want to head west to catch up with family in hawera for a night. If anyones got some suggestions of sweet roads and scenic shit to check out anything legit let me know, im pretty flexible with times etc and what happens just know i want to be in taupo on the 11th & 12th then ChCh on the 18th.And...
From the 20th/21st of Feb i will be doing another mission back to the North heading to Auckland for the weekend of the 24th, but want to head up the east coast this time so same applies. If theres any decent scenic roads or anything worth checking out let me know.
Let the fuel be burnt. -
