So the old mans gone and retired to the Lucky Country. We've been tasked with selling his Land Cruiser - 1996 - 4WD 4.2D manual.
I know the market for these is pretty good but as per the title this ones got super high k's (only two owners - Hertz and Dad), I'm not sure if this would add some cachet or be a downside - it still runs and drives ok but is pretty rattly as I'm sure you can imagine.
Interior is pretty tidy - the front seats have always had sheepskin covers on them, outside its had the expected scrapes, dings and repairs which have made the paint work sort of a Matt Blue.
As per the title - any idea what its worth? or should we just stick it on trademe and spam notify the relevant forums/facebook groups.

I think she's after a hatchback or sedan, should be used around town 90% of the time with an occasional road trip. It'll be the house holds only car so probably looking a size up from a basic hatcch/would be a plus if its able to transport items occasionally

Hi Guys,
A friend has asked for a recommendation for a new car $4000-$5000, automatic, economical and presumably reliable - I'm bit out of touch - what would you guys recommend?

I think these are from a Series 1 or 2 Daimler Sovereign (Daimler Badged Jaguar XJ6).
The jag versions have more ribs (10) in the centre sections which are usually embossed with a perforated pattern - Nelson assembled Jags often seem to have plain leather though.

used to work at Rhodes, looks like they are hire pool now though

Not much to add that hasn't been said already. But keep up the good work - you've got an awesome space there

I brought a car once where the carb floats would jam open and overflow petrol into the intake manifold over the exhaust etc. - this first happened within 15min of my ownership - basically just had to shrug it off as it was a 40 odd year old car there had to be something wrong with it/ more fool me for not checking it out properly

I wonder if they offered them with a small block option in the US?
I remember being given some stick when I was getting some parts for my Chrysler Avenger at Butlers a few years ago. The parts book called the 1250 and 1500 engines small blocks and the 1300 and 1600 versions big blocks..........

^^^^^I think SATAN refers to the plate that was on this (or a similar car), pretty sure the plate wasn't allowed to be registered but he did own the rights to it.
no idea if that is this car or not

Hi All,
I've been pottering away at this for over a year now basically making up some replacement heater motors for the Jag. I've basically got everything done but I'm a little hesitant when it comes to attaching the mounting bracket to the motor. I reckon this can't be welded due to the electrical stuff inside the motor (theres two big half doughnut magnets glued inside the circular housing - I might be able to remove the rest of the innards) I had been planning on epoxying it but wasn't sure I'd be able to get a good key on both parts (or if it would stand up to weight / momentum of the fans running).
Keen for any suggestions....
