Looks tu meke bro!!!
All you need to do now is pull the springs out aye?!
Nah, good shit man. Envious!
-
Hey bro
You mite wanna look at this article. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7862
Theres HEAPS of info on this sorta thing. Quite a popular and easy conversion (if you have the tools/cash!)
I cant speak for 79' Lancer. Lowlancer or Caboonatlarge or Fuel. They are the masters of Mitsubishis!!!
-
Whats it like with the 300mm springs in it with the shorter insert? Did you try? You mite have no more height adjust left but atleast you know it was good with the nut wound all the way down. And with the shorter insert, surely it would keep the spring captive.
But i know what you mean, i dont quite get it myself
-
ME TOO!
Ive got the same issue as Ke36. Id like to know as well, where keeper springs can be purchased, and a rough ball park price.
-
My 1200 had 155/R13. Pretty dicey at high speeds!
-
So 3.9 is a pretty good ratio?
Not too short, or long?
How is the EX going Ke36?
-
FUEL = THE MAN
KEVINATOR = RETARD!
Sorry for the incorrect information. The sigma 10 bolt diff is INDEED 3.909 (Your the shit Fuel!)
It was the 8 bolt lancer diff that i got mixed up, which is actually 4.2.
Are the 3.545 rare as hens teeth?
-
Does anyone know what the diff ratio is on a GSR EX Lancer?
Its a non LSD guy. Ive got a Sigma 10 bolt diff head, and thats 4.1. Are there many other diff ratios to pick from for these diff housings?
Is 4.1 good, or will i be running out of legs quick?
-
I did a lightning fast 18.8 in my stock Camo sigma. 4G63 POWER!

Update Time 30/11/08
Awesome weather + No cash = Stay at home and work around the house
Got bored with the house work and pulled the beast out of the dungeon. Still waiting for the right welder to pop up, so theres not much i can do. Decided to swap the drum diff, for the disc diff. Been holding off doing this. Dont know why tho
Ive bolted up one of my Recaro Fishnet buckets just for laughs, but I wont be using them. I like the factory seats too much.
BEFORE
Put diffs near each other to have a look at the difference. Cant tell by the pic, but the 10 bolt diff is HUGE compared to the lil 8 bolt
AFTER
So, still needing my welding done to progress. Cant wait to buy a welder. Purchased a little 40lt air compressor to do little tasks aswell. Hopefully, my next post will be the money maker post!!!!
Watch this space!
NOTE - I still have the crashed EX Lancer if anyone needs any parts
-
Get a nice 4G63 in there, with 5spd, and will be a great lil car. If you wanna have some fun in it, i suggest you weld that diff up. My camo sigma just wouldn't die. I thrashed the tits off it. Never serviced, never changed the cam belt, and i owned it for almost 7 years!!!
Car cancer was the cause of its demise
-
Not too sure if this was a common rust issue on the sigma's, but mine rusted around the tail lights and boot. Also check the sills and doors. But other then that, they are the shiz!
Another common fault is the springs are way too big. You need to cut those fuckaz straight away!!!

Im a bit reluctant on buying a set of mags for my car, because it may be portrayed as being a "Copycat" or "Biter"
Ive been looking for a new-ish mag in 15x7, 0p offset. Fell in love with the Konig Rewind rims and decided to go with the 165/50/15 combo. THEN i forgot that these rims have already been successful on a previous EX Lancer (WSking(Awesome looking EX Lancer))
My question is, is it considered being a copycat or is it "OK"?
Edit - I think ive put this in the wrong topic
-
nah don't need one of them haha, maybe offer to the EX Lancer people - no use to me mine's IRS
OOOPS! I was offering it to tarmac-
-
if you want my 2 cents, handling is for faggots
AMEN TO THAT!
For some reason, my car keeps going around in circles!
Fuel, your a walking encyclopedia. Ive still got a sigma wagon housing you can take away for free. Not much use to anyone really.
-
Still envious about that dash!
This is gonna be a stunner on the street!
-
Good shit man! Would love to see a video of it in action. Same as Macabre, id love to see your car in action (Other then the taupo runs. Some skids maybe)
The tank i have was out of a EFI Lancer, which originally used an external fuel pump to pull fuel. Im using a Bosch 910. You dont think thats a safe way?
-
Yeah, with little travel, you mite bounce out of a corner the wrong way, and come out worse off.
Ive looked hard and long at your fuel setup, and i cant make up my mind. I dont think ill be racing mine, so maybe a surge tank is not for me.
-
Stink. I didnt realy wanna use a surge tank be cause i kinda want to use the boot.
Did you manage to find some springs? I have a do have a spare set if required.
-
Is it true that the GSR tanks were baffled from factory? Or is that a story ive heard from some story teller?
-
AMEN to the locker. The locked diff is MY BEST FRIEND!!!
Are B**** leaf sprung? Would that make it abit tricky?
-
absolutely NOTHING!
It was the shell that i had. Sold it to a guy who is doing the same build. He has an original A175 EX GSR. The shell is sitting in his paddock, looking pretty sad. What were you after?
-
so wheres this ex gsr sitting in a paddock?
Its in Glenbrook. Auckland
