Im not 100% on the suspension setups in the early Galant/Sigma chassis. I think up front will be similar to EX Lancer. The rear might be the same as 80's Sigmas.
For the front I would look at EX Lancer lowering springs (at a guess 4G11 powered Lancers)
For the rear im using standard Mk1 Mirage rear springs. Or look up lowering springs for EX Lancer (either model)

Cheers man.
Is yours a sedan or wagon?

Man, what a fail. Must have been going off an old spec sheet for the driveshaft hoop.
Heres an example of a hoop that bolts thru the floor
Here is what ive made
The standard says the hoop needs to be as round as possible. Is my creation going to fly?
I also have clicked as to why you asked if there were 2 bolts - 2 bolts per side......
I dont see any mention about bolt spacing. Can they be in close proximity to each other?

If I use 2 plates that size it will have a combined area of 3700mm2 (initial plate is 1850mm2) This will be ok?
Am I allowed to cut a section out of this seat box channel to put in crush tubes? Currently there is bugger all access.
Any ruling on size of tube to be used?

Hi Clint
Had another look at my driveshaft hoop plates and had to modify the drivers side as it interfered with the seat rail mounting bracket.
I have trimed down my plate (originally 50x50). Is this going to fly?
Passenger side is ok?

Have a couple of questions Cletus
Ive had my starion struts cut and shortened to use adjustable KYB inserts. Then converted them to coilovers using welded on sleeves.
The welding was all done mig by a certified welder (have a copy of his ticket etc). Is there a need to have these xrayed? Any other forseeable problems?
if you go by the absolute letter of the law, any mods to suspension parts like that should be tig welded and crack tested.
However, i have certed quite a few struts modified like that ie just a sleeve welded on to the original strut, and ive never had one knocked back by LVVTA. IMO the weld in that situation does not have a lot of load on it for the size of the weld, so its not super critical, as opposed to a strut welded at the base which has steering/braking forces and weight bearing on the welded join
Clint, is the above still the case?
If so, do they need to be NDT?

Nice find!
I wonder if this is the same one Zac knew of

Neal, do you know what the measurements are between the two boxes?
-
You most likely have already, but if you havent check out AUSTARION.COM
Is this the ex Todd Motors Big Wigs old Starion? Had like a 4 or 5 digit licence plate

If its a carb motor it will be a manual fuel pump - Located in the middle of the inlet manifold.
If its injected obviously it will be electric fuel pump - Located above the L/R wheel well

There was this thread not too long ago
Might have some info you're looking for

Sounds like the SE Lancer I had. It had the fog lamps in the grill, AC, plush interior etc.
It had a 4G62 carb motor.
When it comes to Lancer EX prices its hard. There are some on trademe for crazy stupid prices and then there are bargains.

And if you try hard enough, you can get it to 140-150KM'S.
This is the best I can do in mine
After this, I think I broke my fuel pump

The Shock Shop Penrose i have found very useful in the past:
+1 for the shock shop Penrose.
The guys there are very helpful. They cleaned the threads on my shock inserts for free so I made sure I took my car there for a wheel alignment.
Or Autolign can. Thats probably where people send them to.

Didnt one of Tanks familia buy this? Last I heard they melted the pistons.
