  1. Rather buy rx3 with the steering wheel on the normal side...............

They are cool don’t get me wrong but 20-25k would get you a damn decient one out of the states.

In other news , bits turned up from jdm-planet......

Interested to see , especially full rx8 parts one.

I have rotamax pp housing/plates and have acquired rx8 shaft / weights / rotors for the inside.

Not going to lighten the rotors, just side clearance and slot for 3mm carbons

    Should really get onto it

Been thinking about selling this motor if anyone is keen

Enough to build a 300hp na motor

    You would need to make complete;

    Water seals /oil control orings

S4 front stack and oil pump /front cover

Through bolts and various other bolts i guess

Machining the rotors take the 3mm carbons

Thought I had more pics of it when it used to have the vinyl roof, but sadly i can't seem to find them, only one i've got is from  2012 powercruise

At that time the brother in law was building the ke20 Corolla Alistar brought , We swapped my Simmons for the Works and drove to powercruise.

    Yep series 3

Brought it with all the vinyl roof pealed off and had the roof painted.  This was the day i brought it home from the panel shop i think

    Plates not salvagable?

Get that 2 back on the road!

Have a look again tonight , hopefully the rear bridge is a bit thicker and I'll recarve a front to match.

Otherwise have a spare set if series 6 plates but that would mean new manifold

    sounds cool, pics ?

    me likey

yeah, me the same, just keep things standard and see what happens

i will be deepening the apex seal groove for rx7 2mm apex seals

as think that is a downfall to the rx8 engine,

i dont think it would have had the compression issues if had taller/thicker apex seals like the rx7's

im building it for my 50th :D so taking my time,

should have engine built in next 3 years,

its a budget 4 rotor, all engine parts are used, except seals, springs, bearings etc

just want to build and drive one :D

Speaking with Engine balancer he will do the machining for the apex thickness / 3mm width , then side clearance about an inch of the rotor tip before balancing.

See if i can find some photos of the piles of parts.

Stripped the Bridgeport out of the car last night  and everything is mint apart from the porting of the plates , was hoping to give it a birthday and fire it back together.

Bit of shame really will have a look thorough the spare parts pile this week i guess.

The effort to insert ports for both exhaust and inlet is probably hardly worth it when the FD housings are available

Never seen anyone do this but I assume to you could bring the exhaust port timing closer to MFR housing

When I stripped my rx8 block for the parts , Both the housings had a burned/worn through the chrome surface section inline with the opening of the exhaust port.

im building myself a rx8 4 rotor pp engine, using only rx8 parts, thats how much i like the engine :D

they are a great engine i think :D

  8. Thinking more and more lately they are good cheap fun, I've just never found one I like the look of.

Now that's a good looking car , got me thinking/trawling the net for the kit on this car.

Always wanted a green fd , but a green se3p might be just the compromise.

    Maybe.......

You would think answering questions on the auction would be easier than answering the same questions over and over by email ???

Cool car, cool story behind it, super tidy, but it really, will only ever be a museum piece.

I'm not sure we have the collectors in NZ that would drop that sort of coin on a unreged  lhd jappa.

Might have been better to ship it to Aus, if he is after that money.

would be best in a Mazda dealership showroom.

As far as the price goes, I'm guessing he has it high to chase away the lowballers and swaps guys.

If Tim's old silver rx3 coupe can't sell as a driver in NZ for $90k,  this never will.

Still a better buy than this for $70k

    Fixed link for you

That's were my money would go if i was sending 70k for a rotang...........

There was a guy in the states that 'chips motorsport' that was having a bit of dig at the way PPRE had done there intake PP ports and exhaust ports.  Stuff had been sent over to the states and being charged top dollar for pretty average workmanship.

    Watched that video

The intake ports were leaking around a pp insert.

Leaking PP insert was done the way nz has done them forever with some form of devcon etc , Then shrunk back

E-shaft was a different story , Something in the keyway/machine fit of the end lobes was incorrectly machined. Was sloppy as fuck knocking around on the shaft

    Video of leak area

    @ oldrx7 cheers

    well its different,

    not 100% my cuppa

but i think its been done well, at least not a hack job

really the rx4 hasnt really been modified look wise much since it came out,

compared to the rx2 and rx3, so i think its a bit new and might take awhile to be appreciated

..... ok a long long while lol

    Im with you.........not my cuppa

But I think its been really well done, As long as it doesn't all end up the car colour it will look pretty good.

Been trawling Yahoo for some of those Panasport wheels , expensive wheels and even more so if they dont clear the brake calipers.
