  1. also LOL at the "racers" who treat the "cruise" part as a competition, is my understanding not supposed to exceed 100kph?

hence Passengers/reasonably relaxed (and sweet) event :P

Guideline is 160kmh i think , Also mentions no passing on the corners but some of the them need as much help as they can get.

  2. Your car didn't look that bad....

Cheers mean alot, preparation was to squirt it in the driveway while it warmed up

Powercrusie isnt about drifting (to me) and is a sideline event and they were trying to get the others out on track as much as possible i suspect (those that dont take their V8's to a track every month let alone out of the shed)

Been the last 3 years, First year was awesome they put on an awesome show, second year there was to many entrants so they ran the cruise sessions in groups which ment about an hours wait after your turn for the next run. This year seemed like the numbers were about right however there definatley wasnt the quality field of old hot rods they had the first couple of years (rain).

I acutally agree, I see powercruise as an event where us younger blokes can get out there and line up the older blokes with our toys on a more even stage than the dragstrip, whether we get taught a lesson or give them a fright is all part of the fun.

  3. The fact they never told the crowd what was happening on sunday was the biggest issue everyone was left to find there way around/own demise.

They must of relaxed the rules abit as there seemed to be alot of cars that looked like they had been slapped together for the weekend, intercoolers/blowoff valves through bonnets no bumpers etc.

And also the number of pre event bent cars was way up

  4. Gave the old girl a wash and dryed it on the way out there, sunday weather held off all day till the trip home then the old winderscreen washers had to do there job for the first time in i dont know how long.

Was heart breaking to see that camaro track towards the wall, he was along for the ride from there

They tried to squeeze all the burnouts/powerskids into sunday was really dis-jointed because of it, backwards and forwards heaps of delays etc

Cheers to the Bro in law for the borrow of his wheels did the trick for the day

  5. In stark contrast to the above post, my list is miniscule.

    1970-something BMW 735i (E23)

    1974 NSU Ro80

1994 Nissan Skyline (R32, only own 800/2000's of it but yeah gotta bulk up the list somehow)

1993 Toyota Corolla S/W (The pride of the stables)

1974 Mazda Rx2 (The bane of my existance)

1985 Toyota AE85 (Trueno-styles, ownership debated between myself and my brother, no one wants it and until one of us does it will stay under the tree at the deepest corner of our property)

Ill look after the 85 for you , I dont mind putting a cage in and repowering it

  6. I have one of those alloy flywheels with clutch plate face bolted on with countersunk bolts, It looks good and has a workshop name punched in the back of it etc

I just didnt like the fact that for a 13b flywheel it could be spun up to around 10000rpm and the only thing holding it on was 6 bolts through some alloy so stayed with a steel one.

There are two different diameters of rotary pp around 215mm and 225mm I think what size is the v6 one

Should be fun in the viva have to watch it in the wet

  7. If you buy Mitutoyo ones then they are awesome and moneybags spec. I got a set but rarely use them / they're stashed away to avoid damage.

For 99% of work a pair of cheap Mitre 10 spec ones are just fine. I've got a few for home / car / pick-a-part toolbox etc.

You don't need digital, just learn how to read a vernier scale

I had a set of Mitutoyo ones left them on my desk one afternoonfor about 3 hours not even thinkin about it as was a second story in a office block been working there a few years and some cu*t flogged them.

Fuckin Kawerau even the bolted down shit aint safe.

So some fucker is rocking a pair with my last name engraved in them, if i come accross them ill stab the cu*t to death with them.

  8. Renesis just too expensive and still not very thrifty. Owners at the very best are getting 10L/100km when sitting on the highway. I can get that in the viva. I want better.

I wonder how much difference injection would make, would look sweet with a series 4 manifold on it.

Id be leaning towards sr if i were choosing a piston but im biased

Alloy block maybe sr20de+t for starters but there seems to be alot of success vs destruction stories out there of people pushing to far.

Im still convinced there is alot to be gained with pre turbo water/meth injection high compression setup like that but i just dont have the money to research it.

  9. Looks like they can handle big power but also looks like they might not be the cheapest on fuel either. I need to ask about- perhaps probe a probe owner...

    Radisich Telstar Engine ?

I think they are, they go well and there nice and smooth.

But id be interested to know gas milage (vs the rotary) as I dont remember the telstar leaving the flat driveway that much.

What about the setup Mjrstar is pulling from the mx5

  10. Always good to watch your projects, you never do things by halves.

Also very keen to see that engine used more widely then the common EX Lancer conversions they end up (nothing against EX lancers i like them, but would be mean to see one in something else)

    Good luck!

Ill second that, most would of settled for a BP-T. I like your style far better

My concern these days is the lack of strong rwd boxes we have to choose from (especially ones with removable bellhousings) be interested to see which way you go
