yep poor bastard had it fly off on the track then the car behind run it over .....ratshit

Yep , was sitting on the back straight.   We definately run it over........................

Ironic thing ............ happened to Steve maybe 4 years ago and saw it get run over in the rear view mirror , this time he run someone elses over.

  3. It looks like a nice unit , Interested to see where you are mounting it in the car.

Probably better to go the other way it mine and split the power closer to the front of the car i think with a fuse at the back etc  , havent done anything to this level before so watching closely.

  4. Appears to be the fact ive tried to squeeze a rx8 5 speed in the car , Couldnt flick a pick of the front breast plate to me?

The 5 speed has a hump behind the shifter ( 6 speed doesnt so may do that yet ) dont really want to go back to much further.

Cut and respline is the way.

Is your car Luke Keegans old one? Or was that someone else?

The R200 is a monster bit of kit behind most engines.

Yip Lukes one , we went to tech together a few years ago.

converted to r200 but its bloody massive.........slowly edging closer every week

  6. Nice car , funny how you can never have just one old car

Interested in the R180 conversion is it the same mounting points on the front of the diff? moustache bar?

Mine has r200 mounted / comanion flanges changed / CVs etc , I just havent done the axles yet...............have been considering going smaller nugget actually

Going to get creative with the welder and see how the axles go anyway

    Why though?

There's design differences and to my mind the Wat is better.

    Got 3x sets of Wat's

Probably run them on all my cars.   Tires need to have some meat on them

    Wats for lyfe

You may need a s4/5 bell housing I think.

When that is on the input shaft becomes too long from memory.

Think the b2000 is similar to the s4/5

    yeah pretty sure this way.

Imput shaft is 16mm longer on batty box and shortened when s4/5 bellhousing is used.

Rx8 box is the same as s7 gearbox with double sincro arrangement apparently / bell-housing is longer.

Have 2x 5 speed rx8 boxes  if you need measurements. (always have a spare)

I can't believe it either really. Beats all the uncerted and even deregd cars. I doubt you could find another Mazda painted in 2009 that has held up to this condition over 10 years. Hard to find another RX-3 or 808 that is this tidy in the flesh, just as hard to find another 808 that is as complete as this one conversion wise. No filters on my photos, straight out the lense. According to the guy that actually built it, it was a 1 owner 808 garaged its whole life before being built. For a fully built car, I don't think my price is unreasonable at all when an orange fresh paint modified rolling shell RX-3 sedan sold for 50k and a standard complete rare JDM model sedan sells for 70k.

Even that mint original red 808 sedan that sold for 20K could not be built into this car for 15k extra...

Nissan Datsun is where my heart is, I'm going back. I do have something lined up (word of mouth) but I'm not sharing unless the stars align, this sells and I get it.

I dabbled back into Mazda with this car but it is just not practical; loud, expensive and a bridgeport engine with a IDA carb is just not designed to drive around at town speeds. Smelling of two stroke every time I drive it just isn't as appealing as it used to be either. Maybe I am getting old.

Mazda rotaries I will always pine for, just not enough to own myself again. Then again if I don't get what I am asking, I'm not selling  and I wont be that concerned. The only thing that bugs me about it at the moment is the wheels. I'm a JDM wheel piner. I have some 4x110 SSR MKIIs in my shed just waiting for the outcome.

Like this, Amy's car, which to me, is right on point and more than worthy of this thread.

Blue one = Nice car very nicely done, would look nice with some wat's

Swap you the 510 in my shed and some monies , Love my 510 was painted a year ago and i really need to put all the trims /seals back on. but im over it............going to pack the parts  in it and leave it in the corner of the shed for a while.......

That's one of my mates cars, fully standard low km import motor, factory intake with microtech and a nice set of extractors.

car is so super reliable, been going for many many years like that, runs high 13s, does a good skid and actually sounds very nice too - what more could you ask for!?

And make similar power to most bridgeport/ida motors.   (Factory claims 170kw @ 9500 rpm or so)

Has it been dyno'd? Interested to know how close they are?
