  1. Have you used any on your floor? Have been told that 500mls should give you 2 coats for a corolla floor as it spreads quite well.

Think I will most probably get 1L and see how I go from there.

Also GTO's are they 4wd then (being transverse?) just always assumed RWD

I guess the gearbox issues will also be if you are sourcing from a commercial type vehicle, what the ratios are like and depending on what you get your diff from that ratio aswell.

  2. After chat on other thread, had quick read of yours to see what was going to replace engine.

And sh\t, gunna be a weapon. Is the new vee engine alloy block? just asking re: weight distribution etc.

Also is the convo above to do with sump for the engine to suit rwd? (from what I read the engine you are building is the fwd one?) also (may have missed it) but what gbox are you running.

Cross members etc look tidy por15'd how much did you go through for that/how many coats/how much prep? (just wondering how much I should order/am also doing floor)

  3. that is the idea for this. bit of trackday fun, plus can still drive around with some mates when called upon.

Plus most people roll the jap fxgt three doors, so its a little bit different.

If your keen for moar pics I will post up in 'other projects'

Not much to see atm, waiting to clear my driveway so I can take it to get the rust fixed on it. As I dont have a welder atm/havent done it in a while/someone want a cash job?lol

  4. I think it would be sweet aye.

Have a soft spot for ae82's, is your one a gt too?

Unfortunately not, at the moment not even an ae82, its an ee80, lol, but will be changing cambelt end mount to suit 4a motor. Have a 20v blacktop ready to go in.

    Long story behind that decision.

Got plenty of nz gt corolla parts I have scavenged so it will be replica-ish i guess.

Should start a project in the other thread but might wait till I make more progress on it.

  5. I dont have photoshop and am rubbish at it

Seeing the other thread made me think I should check to see if these wheels will even look ok before I buy them

    Wheels: SSR type x

Also if someone can make the car light blue (as mine is blue) and feel free to play round with wheel colours

    Cheers

  6. tis most def a transformer that has got stuck half way. Originally a plymouth barracuda it has started to transform, as you can see the cabin has moved forward and the bonnet has folded down to form the chest of the robot,

  7. Spencer are you dealing with Ewan?

Can vouch him being a GC, upfront and honest, only dealt with him through email, but when I was looking for parts/cars he just said straight up you will probably get a better deal in NZ but ket me know. I found a deal in NZ and even though I didnt do business with him he still emails me mean stuff from Jp. Think he is Deaf Rattles mates from memory, though not sure if Deaf Rattle is on here? He is on toyspeed & Garagedori though.

I am keen for some gear from jp but might not have the funds for a while (supposed to be saving for a... ahem.. ring) but could be keen/anyone else to make this an annual/bi-annual thing if things go well?

  8. And lastly, I watch trademe quite alot, along with a lot of other people that want 4x100 wheels. Unfortunately due to a number of reasons they are getting very hard to find. Honda people are jumping on the "JDM" style and trying to copy these trends, people are beginning to modify RWD 4x100 cars such as Geminis, Chevettes, Piazzas and namely MX5's more, so this is an additional reason and also, the BMW E30 (and open) race series' are also sapping anything 4x100 and wide that might be offered up. In saying that, I got my SSR's from trademe recently so they do come up of course but you have to pay a bit of a premium.

Funny you should mention that, I have also noticed the same trend in my searches, didnt realise there was an e30 race series though, no wonder there are so many stock e30 wheels for sale.

Will just keep trawling TM as not in a hurry, hopefully something comes up

  9. How big/wide are these wheels, what size tyres are you going to run on them, how low is your car, do you mind rolling the lips or pulling the guards slightly, how much camber at the front can you live with?

Have been looking at 15x7s in 40p I would like the same width in 25 p but might end up sticking out too far. No idea on tyres yet, was going to wait and see on that.

I have a set of suspension and springs at stock height, and a lowered set from an fxgt, they are pretty low though (yellow springs so am assuming they are kings superlows or some rubbish), plan to get coilovers+adjustable so could adjust ride height to suit.

Trying to massage the guards as little as possible but it may be inevitable for anything wider than 6".

I will assume you're talking about 7 inch rims? I have 15x7 p26 on my chevette which is actually quite a FWD offset car. I think about 40 is right and I have actually had p50 on it in 6 inch before. They are pretty much perfect for it but it has rolled guards and the tyres do sit very close to them, as in touching some of the time. I think you will be fine if you get a tight fitting tyre and play with the guards abit  but I wouldn't imagine they will go on with no issues.

As above for wheel size, yeah I need to see whats available, havent seen much on TM lately for 25p, second option is just to get some 40P lightweight 15x7s. CP035s or something like that
