the subie version has a more conventional looking front- thats nearly the only visual difference.

Big td42 suits the safaris but does not belong in a car!
-
1HD for sure. They go like stink with a bit of fiddling i hear.
-
Just found this.. I LIKE!
-
I cant believe how ugly it is. The centre of its nose looks nearly mx5 in its curve. Bloody hell.
I agree 1200kg is light by todays standards. According to wiki, first gen mx5 is 940kg, second gen is 1065 and 3rd gen (current) is 1100kg.
For 100 kg you get a roof and a whole lot more car. I'm going to guess that chassis rigidity, safety, and 0-100 times will be a whole lot greater with the ft86!

I thought i would like this but the released car is farkin ugly.

I fucked out loud when reading that.
slap slap slap slap/slosh

Shit what a sweet ride. Shame its in aus!

Your car will feel faster anyway just because of the extra noise. Cool.

Cant say im really into the whole pushbike thing but that first bike is pretty damn cool.

Tried some 13" modgies on today... didn't fit over the calipers so im rolling with missmatched wheels at the moment. This lead me to a discovery though- a set of dirty old Hoshino Impul pro-spokes in 14"...these are going to be mine soon and will be sent to the engineers for widening.
I'm told these wheels are quite rare which is cool.

is there anyplace dog friendly to visit?
-
You could take them into any engineering shop and ask. If their lathe is big enough they will be able to take a skim off the face in like 30 minutes per wheel easy.
-
Thats a better idea.
-
skimming the mating surfaces is by far the best idea yet. I say give it a go!

nothing wrong with a gen1/2 3sgte at all!
throw a ct20b on there and you have a real weapon. Plus with lower compression you can run a bit more boost than gen3.
You only have to look at Alsw20 on TS (my old flatmate).. I watched him run a 12.6 with full weight gen1 SW20 that only had ct20b, downpipe, boost controller and panel filter done. Thats 4.6 seconds 0-100 in a 1250kg car with relatively minor bolt on's.

Phone Fraser kit cars and ask them whats required to get this motor on the track in a RWD.
-
i did mate! Thank you sooooooooo much!!!!
Please PM me with your bank details etc.
I found the bumper bolts. I was surprised that they were actually called coach bolts. Some of them will be replaced with bullet bolts from trademe
-
Awesome wheels.. and would be perfect on my scorp! hmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
-
ooooh yeaaaaaah, no rubber bumper buffers.
So where can i get some chrome dome coach bolt type M6 screws for my bumper to fill in the holes?
-
you can buy dome head cap screws?
Why not use a nylock to retain?
-
eventually i'll grab an evo motor and manual box, but for now while its my daily there will just be basic bolt on's to make it more driveable. It seems quite easy and very inexpensive to make these motors a bit more fun.
-
Just grab some cap head M8 bolts and have someone polish with emery paper in a lathe if required. cut a course thread for grease at the same time.

fuck i can't stand it when guys deliberately mess a car up in an attempt to be cool. Fake patina or whatever it was that you were aiming for is real lame.
Anyways, cool car! will look good on widened steels i reckon. Paint them something 80's like fluro pink/orange.
I have no idea what im talking about.
Just my opinions. They may be dumb.
