  1. There is a takeaway shop somewhere up the northern end of the main drag, you'll know you're in the right place when you see the live crays in there.

Pretty legit several years ago, report back plz.

Went in for a cray... then decided we didn't want to spend that much  so sat down to dinner in the resterant instead.

Can't say it was the best meal we have had and we found the staff there kinda pushy and difficult to deal with. My workmate nearly lost his temper with the man there - we'd only had the menu for about a minute (not kidding) before he started pushing for a decision.

Went to lonestar last night. God i love that place! Drank too much too quickly and had a good attempt at a large plate of ribs... couldn't quite finish the spuds at the bottom but blame the garlic bread that we had first!

    I'm so dam homestick!

  2. Havent been for a while but rent a space on clyde st south of the monument round about has a few old tanks for sale to look at. E hayes is awesome, go there everytime im back to get something. My local is waikiwi fish supply out north road, not bad at all. havent been to ocd since i built the sub for it, bad time of year to be hangin round down there for a wintry blast.

yeah.. we were blown away by how windy it is there at the factory.......

    ahhaha, whats a sub?

  3. I'm about to spend night 6 here in invers- still working at OCD. Is it always this miserable here, holy crap.

There are MANY oldschool american cars here driving around compared to up north.. very cool!

Your Hammer Hardware is quite possibly the best tool store in NZ. It was a total buz seeing all Munroes stuff in there! I bought a pair of C-clip pliers, got back to work and realised that i already had an identical pair in my tool box under some other shit... DOH

The Kiln is a pretty sweet joint with great service and some very lovely waiters.........may go back a 3rd time soon.

Who can recommend a good fish and chip shop here?

    -Nathan

  4. Hi guys.

I'm new to the whole bike thing- used to ride everywhere until about 16 when i got my licence and then BOOM- never really touched a pushbike since.

spent 60$ on trademe a little while back and bought this:

    392377_3505873960213_1961702710_n.jpg

I put some flipped bmx bars on it (just because i like doing things a little different/looking stupid) and then rode it a few times. The tires are fucked and this pretty much has caused a ripple through my wallet creating enough new/near new parts off trademe/ebay to build a whole new single speed bike :-D

really enjoying the process- its everything i love about car projects but cleaner, cheaper, easier, quicker and easier for the other half to understand ( i can pass it off as being an exercise requirement)

I need help with two items though! My wheelset is at the sellers house in Auckland (St Heliers) and he seems too busy to post them to me (or even get a quote so that i can pay him!)

Does anyone live over that way and come to hams often? I'm so fuggin busy wit work at the moment I'm unsure when i'll be able to go collect them myself :-(

  5. Hi all.

Thought i would post this here as its not applicable to anyone else.

I have this lezyne c02 filler here for sale. Its a bloody great unit which allows you to fill bike tires from 16 gram threaded c02 cartridges (available from all bike stores)

These units are the smallest and lightest fillers with on/off valve and they work VERY well.

A 16 gram cylinder will fill one road tire from 0 to approx 120psi in very little time.

These are perfect for anyone who hates mini bike pumps as much as i do- or anyone who likes bike pumps but does not want to carry one on their bike for space/weight/appearance reasons.

I have another of these units (different brand, plastic) and its NOT AS NICE as this lezyne unit- unfortunately I have probably a lifetime supply of c02 cartridges left over from my BB gun days and these are unthreaded so don't work with the lezyne.

This unit is UNUSED but has floated around for a while so may have a very light scuff/rub mark in places- call it 99.5% new.

Here is a video showing its operation:

Here is a review showing how awesome it is:

Here is the manufacturer site- scroll along to see the c02 trigger:

I'll take $20 firm for the unit.

Sale mostly because i need money for other bike stuff :-)

  6. That makes me wonder what you could get a JZA80 down to if it had the race car treatment? at least you get double wishbones in the front of them :D

I wished there was an easy way of slashing weight out of mine when i had it. Not easy as the weight is in the cars important bits- unibody and engine/gearbox etc.

even fiberglass doors/bonnets/guards etch dont remove much weight as the factory bits are aluminum (as far as im aware) and pretty light anyways.

  7. I'm in invers at the moment and for the next 8 or so nights.

Went for a walk in town about 5.30.. My workmate exclaimed " I think my testes just popped round into my asshole" He was trying to tell me he was cold i think.

Got some very nice oysters and a filling meal at the HMS KINGS seafood restaurant.. the oysters down this way are very different to all others ive had!

Tomorrow night it will be the irish pub!

hahahahaha, oh and we went into heathcotes electrical (i think) and wanted to buy a cheap radio....ended up asking the sales person for directions to the warehouse! hahahah
