Dad has been busy stripping and rebuilding this - so far has the Frame stripped and re powder coated in red and had a general tidy up.

    I NEED HELP

The engine is a Yamaha DS6 from the 70's and when it was running sounded like this thing - bloody awesome

Heres what kinda bike the engine is off

Anyway it blew up from running too lean. it melted a piston among other things and the spares we have are all haddit.

We ran some carbs we found as it used to run on methanol and they were so huge the engine would flood. It apartently had around 40Hp. It was a prick to start and was generally

missing bits and pieces aswell (no clutch or kickstart)

We are thinking for ease of running it etc to find a complete engine with the clutch and kick start like an RD250 as they look similar to keep with the theme of the Kart. Then we can kick start it, and

use the clutch to move off.

Any help locating an engine like this, Yamaha Parallel Twin 250cc (or 350 but would have to keep quiet as 250cc is max allowed) 2 stroke, would be much appreciated as there is a big meeting in Hawkes Bay in January and we would like to have it running then.

  2. hello piners ; long time reader first time poster ......... twin su's on a flared rotary ha viva , where is it now ....... I NEED it :-)

Unfortunately i dont know where it went (was 8 when it was sold - still remember that i cried lol) - it was sold as a body with running gear (have a feeling it was scrapped) due to the body starting to fall apart - i forget what diff it had in it but it was ripping the floor to bits - typical 90's throw anything in anything and use anything to make it go.

The mighty Roxhall - Hoof-Hearted Race Team.

Heres a couple more pics - check out the gearbox tunnel - spot the mazda - wish i hadnt sold that - was a 5 door hatch with a hot 4 cyl, should of moved the rotary bits to it. I sold it to pay for the KE25 which dad still has.

  4. Factory FC infini seats. I think Ed once told me still avalible new from Mazda. At $2.5k each?

How cool are they though - $5K for seats that are probably nearly unobtainium not too bad though dont you think?

  5. Note to self - make underground carpark with steep as fuck driveway. Like 45 degree shit with a hidden winch at the top to get your cars in and out. Those crooks would never work it out lol

On serious note - had accident with 120Y when with Swann and were awesome, even let me pic the panel beater and all.

Hope you get paid for man hours - your the only one that knows your way around the thing and hopefully it doesnt take too long.

  6. Well when a Court tells you to pay - you usually do right, or keep fighting it getting more bills to pay? i spose he just wanted out and that little rat got the cash. (didnt help we are in chch and buyer was in nelson area - mate even picked him up from the airport lol, some people just take the piss.

I had someone ring up about a $2500 Dual Mass Clutch kit today and they were like "i wonder if i can claim that on warranty" (done over 200,000kms), so they will try it on anywhere.

  7. yeah na, you don't have to say 'as is where is' at all. There is no protection or exemption from law for using 4 words. There must be more to that one.

Im pretty sure that is what the Judge/whoever was running the small claims court said - something to do with it being an "Auction" as apposed to a sale from a listing or shop.

was a VW golf Mk4 that my friend sold - and after 6 months it failed a WOF for a few little things. a couple were just  wear and tear - the thing had done over 250,000kms so one of those is bound to have issues lol, then proceeded to get fixed and pay monumental bills. It was about a month after the first wof had run out and had the repairs done, that the guy just sent the bills to my friend to pay lol.

Ill find out if i can get all the details etc, before i say anything that may be incorrect - see if he has all the paperwork etc for what he went through.

  8. Make sure you had "as is where is" in the auction - a freind didnt and ended up paying out $1500 through small claims for mechanical bills etc.

I laugh though - why the fuck do people buy something cheap second hand, have it break on them or break it themselves, cos they dont knw what the hell they are doing with it, go and get it fixed somewhere that is probably a mate or some dodgy shit and mock up or pay a massive bill, then contact the seller?  How about an email or call to say its broken down etc what do you reckon we do?

I dont mean this applies to everything sold second had but man people havent heard of Common Cents lol

  9. Geezz - my first race Kart was a midget with an iron horse - when we raced them you used to have issues with those flappy "reed" valves? (i was 9 at the time). This made them run shitty or not at all.

Great find thou -  loving the asymmetric wheel placement.

Check it out even a vintage kids class now lol

  10. Compulsory pic of you rear side window half down !!

Love these - ive heard that s13 front end stuff can be giggled around to fit - would need 5 stud hubs (obviously) but knuckles etc possibly bolt to balljoint. Then use coilovers or factory s13 struts and lowering springs

  11. Super keen Brock, not this weekend maybe next?

It's about 2.0t I think. Having it on the trailer would be the perfect opportunity to weigh it at the tip. You got a car that will tow it?

Yeah I'll bring my camera we can film your drive getting made worse than it was!

Ill have a chat to the neighbours (combined drive) - see if they want to have to select 4wd when your done or not lol.

  12. Potentially Dattohoarder / Aaron - he has horses and I think he just bought a lifestyle block.

Brocky41 has a lifestyle block in North Chch too.

Gee aye - word gets around - still trying to grow the actual grass in the paddocks atm - its a bit harder than you might think lol. Its a no from me.
