Lift springs are direct replacement?
A bit vague
https://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/suplementary_information/LVVTA_LVV_Cert_Threshold.pdf
What's vague? I can clarify.
Also only the bits in yellow are changed from previous threshold doc.

Hey Leon. Anything that has been previously certified is accepted at face value unless there is something that could be considered not fit for purpose or if it was unsafe.

I think this might be a better pic of the crossmember.

We'll talk about a spanner in the works. Some guy named Covid (sounds Dutch) threw a bit of a curve ball.
Seeing as my lockup was the other side of town and further away than I was allowed to travel. This thing has been on ice for 7 weeks.Anyhow first day back on the spanners netted some progress.
Super stoked with how the crossmember and rack turned out.

I tried online before the lock down. No times available for either delivery or pick up.
Tried again the other day.
Nope.
Booked solid.
For WoF? Only essential vehicles can get WoF's during lockdown. Trucks/taxis/delivery vehicles etc.
Also the word is that police will be lenient on cars with WoF's that have expired during the lockdown, providing the driver passes the attitude test and they aren't just out for a jaunt to the beach to cough on someone elses kids.- 2

Tapered wheel nuts are insufficient with a spacer. Requires a hubcentric ring on the spacer or the wheels needs to locate on the hub.

Is it possible to fit a wheel spacer, say 5mm, to a car that doesn't have a locating ring on the hub? Can the spacer just be fixed to the wheel, with a flange that matches that of the wheel center hole, for centering purposes? Or can a spacer just not be used in this application. Talking about front axle, where tyre to strut clearance is tight, but not contacting. Just not sure how much clearance is acceptable. 1,2,5mm?
TIA
What centres the wheel to the hub? It usually needs a hubcentric ring but if the centre of the hub is a snug fit to the wheel centre then that typically would suffice - but check if your certifier would be happy with that.
Also yes it can be attached to the wheel, but that is not the desired method so might be looked at sideways by the certifier.- 1

How dare you assume a gender! I’d assume it’ll have a couple of white racing stripes down it’s pubis one day tho.
As the father, I have the right to know or are we going to be one of those trendy couples that let the kid choose its gender?
Well its going to be named Barry anyway, don't care whether its a boy or a girl. -
Spanners. Is it a boy or a girl?

Last couple of weekends I stripped every last part of the front suspension down and prepped it for paint. Sent the steering rack for a rebuild and crossmember for blasting and powdercoating and got the crossmember back today.
This Saturdays job is to paint all the bits and reassemble with new buses, joints, links etc. Should be tight as a goldfishes anoose once its all back together.Pic 4 Fred

Actually forget that, water pump is driven from the cambelt.
Also you have a fresh motor so that shit be tighter than a goldfishes asshole, so overheating is not unexpected during break in period. -
Its not something stupid like the water pump being spun backwards?
From memory a UZ has the pump running off the back side of the serpentine belt and when you added on the S-Ch you didn't make the pump run the wrong way by rerouting the belt? -

Running slightly lean due to extra air and overheating?
My first thoughts and came to say that here ^,
Is there a bunch of drag from the supercharger, they take a bit of power to driveCan you remove the belt and run it with no S/Ch?

No I don't sorry.
FYI - in this instance, direct replacement means an unmodified catalogued part for the vehicle.
eg: if you fit R32 Skyline springs in an R31 Skyline they may fit but they are not a direct replacement.
