They did all the rust and paint work for my car.
Out by airport.
Ask for Wayne. Good guy, he has a lot of time for young people like us doing paint and rust stuff.
Tell him Chris with the Fiat sent you, haha.
-
They would be rich if they also did Fiat panels
-
PM Terry about powder coating, he should be able to sort something.

edit: in wellington too.

What type of Fiat?
-
I got recommended to go see Chris at Centreline suspension.
He custom built my mates Bilstein suspension in his 130tc (the targa one).
After a ride in the 130tc I now know where I am going to get my suspension done.
His shop is in Great North (could be South) Rd, same road as Red Baron Motorcycles.

Have a mean trip!
I will look after your car for you even

Yeah had a look on trademe, they are pretty expensive. I will only be using it on the odd occasion, so a Dewalt one maybe a bit wasted on me.
There is tonnes of smaller ones on ebay UK which are perfect, but none here.
-
Does anyone know where to get a cheap one locally?
-
White walls and fender mirrors are ftw!
-
Ive got this mean vid of you overtaking me on the track. Once you got on to that little bit of straight before the chicane the Gem left the Strada for dust.
The video makes it look like we are going really slow thought, haha.
-
Yeah they arent too bad on the gas if you granny it round. Make sure they are in tune, balanced etc...Thrash it and you will be paying for it.
-
Yeah I rolled up so late to that track day, good though as I almost had the whole track to myself.
Just finished pulling apart and swapping the broken C.V joint, should be good to go tomorrow.
Whats your guys thoughts on the Buddyclubs? Yeah/na? I am thinking of painting them white for track day wheels.
-
Ok got a new engine in the build
From factory it has a 2lt Twin cam 8v which makes 130hp/130tourques, hence the name of the car.
Here's whats going in.........
The head received new guides, 3 angle valve seats, Porting and Polishing.
Valves got matching 3 angle cuts.
Adjustable pulleys. These are made from machining out early 1 inch wide twincam pulleys and putting in an alloy insert in.
Also a pair of Billet camshafts are going in.

Yeah you probably should tell the insurance Co or else they may not pay out when you need it.
I don't think it added anything to the premium and if it did its not much.
They asked if any suspension mods needed a cert and how much approx was the value of the wheels.
On a side note with NZI if you have a 3+ star car alarm and it does get stolen you don't have to pay excess.
-
Try NZI.
My car is insured with them. I told them about all my mods which they then added onto the policy. They just asked if it needed a cert or not.
However your is a bit more modified than mine.

Cheers guys,
maybe I should have mentioned that those pictures are going though a couple of years, however I still have all those wheels.
All going to plan I will have a WOF by Thursday and will be racing at the track day on Monday.

I have a 1984 Fiat Strada 130tc Abarth.
Was in goodish condition when I first got it, but had some rust.
I got a whole free parts car with it, which was sweet.
The engine is currently a stock 2lt 8V twincam with 40mm Solex's and extractors as standard.
Koni's in the front and a Nissan Pulsar strut brace to improve handling a bit.
Factory leather recaros + factory stereo.
Discuss here: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=13838
First thing I did was getting the rust fixed and it came back looking like this.
Then stripped the paint.
This is when it was at the workshop just before getting sprayed
Putting it back together.
So shiny when I first got it back from the painters!
Had no windscreen and no door locks so I tied the door closed for the ride home. Installed Evo 2 Recaros then found they weren't as good as the original Recaros so they got sold.
After I put it back together........
Changed the wheels and lowered it.
Bit of action at a Fiat Club event
New set of wheels.

Haha, Zep that copy of retro rides is still at my house.
edit: I found the said copy.
They reckon with com at 11.1, upspecd cams and a 4-2-1 mainfold + free flow exhaust will get you 180hp.
add to that 45 carbs, Port & polish, balancing, lighten flywheel and forged interals can = 220hp's.
HP's sound real simular to the fiat 16v twin cam.
-
It's looking good now!
What happened with the left side's paint. It didn't used to be that noticeable. Did you primer it?
When you repaint it keep the pinstripe! Actually na just cut and polish it hard, the car looks cool with rough paint.

-
Put some of those old pictures up from when you first got it.
When it had mudflaps and shit on it, they were cool!
-
Ok sweet got the indicators going from the Hazards.
Now on to the Central locking.
Removing Windscreens?

Paying a professional isn't too expensive. Cost me $120 to put the front and back glass back in after painting.
