i know its got a transfer case on it, but would anybody know if its worth selling, or just scrapping. would of been going in a circa 1993 toyota surf.

Think it was 21 or 24 spline. Cant remember tho cause it was alot of beersies ago. Cant find any casting marks on it either.

    Cheers Guys and Gals

  2. Hey guys, I've done s bit of a search, but can't find any real answers either on here, or the net.

I have a new school Commy, running a LS1. 2.5" thru to dual flowies. Can I legally run dump pipes straight off the back of these? The dump pipes will end after the diff, but only just. I have the exhaust flanged off the back of the flowies, then going to a twin 2.5" - 3" collector. Then 3" thru to rear muffler. I have run it with our the rear muffler, and it wasn't that loud.

I have seen other commys running dump pipes, but don't know if it's a good idea or not.

    Cheers

  3. another option is plastic sheet if you got some medium density polyethylene from Mulford plastics be piece of piss to work with wont crack splinter and will be waterproof staples will also stay stuck into it.

Worked with plastics for 10 years i take any excuse to use it on something new. recycled shit is cheap as too .

Where did you work? I work for Mulford Engineering Plastics in Auckland. Been here for 11 years. Was called Ludowici when I first started

  4. polyprop is not what you want. you want either polyethelyne or Polyurethane. I can supply all of them anyway.

Retep130 - Does Chris Haskens still work for you guys? he used to be a turner at my work, and went to work for you guys. Pretty sure he was going to work on the tools there as well. He may have retired by now tho.

  5. Other thing you can do and I tried this once was find someone that sells rubber/nolathane/urethane rod - there was a place in ChCh that I got some from possibly Mulford Plastics, or Ludowici - and you can turn it up to suit, but its terrible to machine. Just pop your old crush tubes back in.

I work in the Auckland Branch of Mulford Engineering Plastics. Let me know if you need any polyurethane rod and i will see what i can do for you. Possibly easier and cheaper to machine the bushes, than buying them off the shelf

    Cheers

  6. ok so lets see if im right.............

1- prob not. the compressor will be running all the time and wont have enough time to fill the tank let alone deliver the correct pressure to spray with.

2 - yes it should be. i use a gravity fed gun from blackwood paykels. cost about 80 bucks.

3 - 2k is better but laquer is good. I just sprayed a VH commy engine bay with laquer and it turned out great.

4 - depending on the size of your car. the VH i am spraying will take 4 litres for exterior im told. My mate bought 5 just to be safe.

5 - Im not in CHCH, but i have been useing my mates double garage with one side blocked off with a tarp.

6 - Yes. Clear coat is always good. brings out the metallic, if you are useing a metallic.

    Hopefully this is correct.

  7. Watch the likes of the top pic you posted. Its a "GLOBAL" or similar.

We have one at work and its shit. The X and Y have different increments. one is metric and the other is imperial. Makes for some interesting cuts if you are hung over or not concentrating. on one, one turn is 2.5mm and the other is 1/4 inch.

Try find an old coulchester if you can.
