even if he occasionally lets his anti-jaffa bias tint his writing...
Here's an idea for those in the top half of the North Island who are crying foul about Tony Quinn purchasing Hampton Downs even before the contract is completed!
Form yourself into a collective group and call it, for example, the Grass Roots Motor Racing Club, find a piece of land, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, raise the money and build yourselves a circuit suitable for entry level motor racing.
Taupo was originally built this way by the Taupo Car Club, Manfeild was built by the Manawatu Car Club, Ruapuna by the Canterbury Car Club, Levels by the South Canterbury Car Club and Teretonga by the Southland Car Club.
In the 70 years of organised, modern motor racing in New Zealand, the top half of the North Island has sat on its collective hands and waited for other people to provide a circuit for them. It was the stand-alone New Zealand International Grand Prix Association that created the circuit at Ardmore and built Pukekohe and it was contractor Ian Rorison who built Baypark.
Get off your arses, get organised and do it yourselves.
Alternatively, get organised and buy the circuits yourselves — they are for sale!
If Tony Quinn ends up owning two or three of our most "international" circuits what he will do is provide us with quality meetings with quality international fields.
That may mean the end of cheap club motor racing — or it may not as Quinn is not stupid and he may realise he needs a motor racing nursery.
And here's a footnote for those who are already bleating . . . If you don't realise that Hampton Downs and Taupo are economic disasters, threatened by financial collapse, bottomless pits into which millions of dollars has been poured, then you have no idea of the state of affairs and are living in a dream world.
Motor racing in New Zealand is is a near state of collapse and while nobody else is prepared to get it reorganised, Tony Quinn offers some sort of solution at the top level. If you want grass roots, motivate yourselves.- 10

Oh god!
I have heard his plans for it.
It is not good for those who used to go there to drive the track and those who own apartments.
please elaborate

cheaper that I imagined it would be

I used those on my old 350z was very happy with the performance.... there was occasionally a squeak from them when they were cold, didn't bother me though... was a noticeable difference over whatever was on it when I purchased it

Proof of concept looks ok, though might quit using the old nokia screen and try to find a similar sized colour lcd for slightly more stealth...

My widened rims leaked through the weld, I ended up putting tubes in them to solve it...

HPC in Manurewa, the owner has been to a few OS meets and has a sweet scooter and VW
Arkco on the Shore, have done good work, and had no problem correcting a fault for free in the past

so the VW isn't going to make it to Nat's track day... but on the bright side I'm taking the opportunity to tidy up some stuff, starting with powder coating the cooling tin
