214 kW when they leave the factory...
Nice to drive - still know its a 'big' car though and the ecu won't allow the brake and throttle to be pressed simultaneously )-:
Generally pleased I chose this over a smaller turbo engine...

I think you're right, but I'm getting old and my dexterity ain't what it was...

Canopy should look pretty good if you have bikes on it, so just roll bikes everywhere. Matty bee them too.
sounds like a good idea, figure I'll need about, 3 HMX's & 2 Raliegh 20's

just checked - those are transfers should be an easy job to remove...

I saw this!
And was all keen then forgot about it haha.
How much did you get up getting her for?
Getting rid of that massive canopy? Or using for bike transport?
$1900 and the plan is to use for bike transport - canopy may still go though, unsure at this point...

Would be all over these if in 4x100

vw engines have the most parts available... anything from a 40hp 1200 to at 400hp 2300 turbo is easily (if not cheaply) achievable
personally I plan on putting together a 2l once I have my paint & panel out of the way...
how hard is it to bolt up a 2lt into a bug?? do they all bolt up the same?
i am not looking for somehting with outright power but i live in dunedin so it needs some so it can make it up the hills. lol i was thinking bout doing something along the lines of what you have done with your bug but i am after a hoodride look for it. something down right mungril will do me just nicely.
yup all held in with the same 4 bolts, just the barrels, pistons and crank that vary the case stays the same (bar some clearancing for large strokes and boring for large barrels)...

but to be honest your probably best off getting a 1600 with duals and keeping it in tune, beetles are pretty light and geared reasonably lowly so will climb hills without much bother...

was pretty enjoyable around the track, felt really planted though tended to understeer more than oversteer but that might have just been my poor technique. Was my first outing so don't have much to compare it to...
