400ml in a 20l fuel container is 50:1.... at least that's how I always managed it when I ran 2 strokes

Beetle boxes must be strong!

spent a week in Tokuyama Japan (think the Hamilton of Japan, but petrochem rather than dairy) and as many people spoke english as hamiltonian's speak Japanese
driven by a literal old lady actually wearing a bonnet
4th gen Camaro sacked on 20's with flames
Honda beat, not exactly old school I know, but reasonably rare
and a gtr looks like it's sat for a while...
also literally 50% of cars on the road we kei cars (Tokuyama is considerably less affluent than Tokyo) but wonder if well see an influx of them in NZ in the next year or so... I did quite like the Suzuki Hustler...

I've never really understood the physic's behind car wheelies... surely the torque from the back wheels wants to compress the front suspension?
so I did a google http://www.caranddriver.com/features/the-physics-of-wheelstands but still don't understand why the torque doesn't counteract tire trust

A friend bought an old Delica in Auckland, did a fit out and shipped it to Canada. He is currently in Alaska about to turn around and drive to Brazil...

about a week ago I swapped from dailying a late model Commodore ute to a late model Nissan Cube and I swear I can not go for a drive now with out someone cutting me off or pulling in front of me without indicating , and I promise this never happened at all while in the ute...
also have notice an amusing/stupid trend for drivers obviously in the wrong (ie the must know it themselves) to act agressively, on the trip home some lady was too into her phone to notice the lights had changed even after the car behind her had politely beeped twice. However when she realised what happening it was all fingers and yelling....

I'd start with a flush, new thermostat and radiator cap... low $$ stuff first...
then look at radiator, fan and fan belt etc....
[edit] basically what he said

are those wider? why are you getting rid of widened steels for widened steels?

ohhh Shaker Run, one of NZ's more underrated films... (and one I've wanted a copy of for ages)
also some good stuff (though the most memorable one is in a boats) in Race for the Yankee Zephyr (also a NZ film)

went for a ride out here on Sunday. Pretty mellow, half the trails are graveled and the ones that arent are pretty damp (at the moment). Pretty family orientated and seems like most of the trails are bi-directional. Good spot to introduce people to MTB'ing I'd say...
10Speed's '68 VW Bug
in Projects and Build Ups
Posted
today I found a piece of my very first VW for sale... this is the bonnet off my old Baja Bug, I havent seen it for over 20 years.
One day I forgot to clip it down, and while heading along the nor-western, it flipped up into the wind screen and tore one of the hinges out. I replaced it with a spare I had, and can't remember how I disposed of it...
The hinge is still broken and you can see remnants of the duct tape I used as a temporary get home repair...
I nearly purchased it, but $5 seemed a little steep...
(posted in this thread, as it's kind of the genesis of this project)
