  1. My understanding is that the diff heads have 45 teeth/10 teeth making a 4.5, and 41/10 would make a 4.1 etc.

    Anyway.... I have a 4.5 in my car, but have a 41 tooth crown gear spare in my pile of bits. Can i change it without changing anything else or do the teeth have a different pitch or something on the corresponding gears? I dont have any other pinions lying about so am hoping i can use the ones from the 4.5?

    4.1 would give a possible top speed of around 250ks. I dont expect the aerodynamics would let that happen but its more about the 3k rpm at 100kph...

    Im a diff noob really so just want to know whether I should bother trying

  2. yeah bruv been here for ages but work has been slow. My stepbro broke his arm working at an engineering shop so I told his boss id take over for a couple of weeks if he let me use his shop to do my car. So progress should be good. In the end I am actually working there paid full time until xmas so will have a lot of late nights making that bitch so so sweet!

  3. Fuck me sideways its been so long since i updated this. Been studying and generally being a sack of shit alcoholic and not doing car....

    Car is in workshop at the mo, been working on it recently. While I have it there i will sort all the panel work and get it macking!

    Howat engineering has made my new driveshaft, its mint and fits sweet

    Radiator is mounted, its actually something I stole from my old lotus 7 parts pile. Also robbed the oil cooler off it, they fit sweet. Kinda. Hope it cools my engine sweet, it was previously cooling a 3sge so should be close... And yes its dirty :)

    Decided against megasqurt in the end. Will get a link one day...

    Have bought ke70/ae86 lcas and castor arms, and a te7 sway bar. Going to make a fully rose jointed front end for extra noise and crashiness.

  4. fuck i love those supra wheels on the 35. Plus the whole shaved look is pretty awesome in my opinion. Theres something about the rear wheel arches that i like but i dont quite know what it is. Loving the colour though, its gonna be an awesome car.

    Wouldnt it be pretty cheap to just get the 4age running?

  6. I think some people are getting about 200hp at the wheels with a well set up beams on quads, thats what I am aiming for. But if I was to go down this road again I wouldnt have used a beams just because of the added costs. I would just use a 4age cos its lighter, smaller, and way cheaper, plus turbo route is easier and cheaper. I have spent fucking bucketloads and its still not running!

    If you are going to hunt down a new motor get a 7 rib ze with under piston oil squirters and go from there. Internals are pretty good. You could probably get 300whp easily enough if your willing to spend some moneys.

  7. Just to throw it out there - if you are going to go turbo id just use a 3sgte from the start. Better setup for big power, and we all like big power. Also probably cheaper to buy. Plus 6 speed box cant handle a lot of torque. I had a 3sgte that was quite heavily modified and it was absolutley fucking mental.

    Cool wagon though, id love something like this to daily. Looks to be in good condition too
