Yeah shortened linkage sounds like the go. In my experience wit the bmw one I did, it’s not exactly hard. Just need to have a diesel first so you don’t feel so bad about cutting up an expensive gbox.
My mates 4 door race car with a cage is about 1250 wet, no real weight savings other than removing interior.
Id like to be around the 1300-1350 region wet with the LS but I’m not gonna go for weight savings at the cost of comfort. It’s a street car after all!
330i engine has been a real dick so far. Throwing money at sensors should fix it for a while. Not as fast as I hoped but maybe it needs its Thanos seals replaced. I think the cabrio is probably a whale which won’t help

Short answer is no I don’t. Engine and box should arrive in about a week.
I kinda wanted a T56 but for an extra couple of hundy I thought I’d just go the better box. I have my fingers crossed really hard that the shifter is going to just pop straight out of the standard hole in the tunnel. Stranger things have happened! Otherwise I’ll whip out the hole saw and start butchering, or potentially shorten the linkages if that’s a thing.

So. This has been going on for years! I call it a bobber but I live in Chch, our roads are shit, so bobbers aren’t a great idea, so it’s not a bobber.
Started like this.
slowly turned into this
I bought an exploded Honda rebel 450 and then hunted for ages for any engine to go in. Hoped for air cooled, struggled to find anything.
finally a bandit 600 engine and loom showed up on trade me. I took my frame there to see if it would fit. There was NO WAY it would fit. So I bought it anyway.
Story gets weird here. I had it and the frame sitting and garage doing nothing. Got really drunk one night and kinda had one of those crazy blackouts. Woke up in the morning and the engine is not only in the frame, but the whole thing is up on a desk in my garage.
Couldn’t get the fucker down off the desk by myself and couldn’t get the engine out for aaaages.
Modified frame to suit, did some other stuff, then put project on hold while I was between permanent houses. Trying to get stuck back in now.
Most of wiring is done, just needs foot controls mounted (forward now).

I made the air box. Spent ages so that it fit really well against bonnet. Looked good in real life, and 16yo me said it added 50hp. I reckon more like 40.
The engine had hardly any induction noise until about 6k and then it just screamed. I loved ringing it’s neck just to hear the dort! I hope the LS makes a good noise or I’ll have to put a bunch of Kazoos in the intake pipe to satisfy my ears.

Straight uploads sounds like someone is paying for a big old server somewhere? Excellent. I always hated the photobucket thing. I’ve got a ton of photos to add soon so will get stuck in.
Car was fucking fun even with the 2.8. Had a super light flywheel and an LSD and loved going sideways. Also has a short rack from Z3 which saved my life a few times!

I bought a Sikky kit to mount engine so I could focus on other stuff.
Kk touched me when I was sleeping once.
My fav car that I had to sell recently was my e30 vert. My tenants trashed my rental house and I had to sell the thing to buy new carpet. Sold it for $4500 which I really fucking regret!

Long time no post. I got real sick of the internet so I made a hat out of pams aluminium foil and stopped the govt stealing my ideas and kinda backed away from the interwebs for a long time. Anyway since then, in true Seedy Al style, I've had about 20 cars and broken most of them.
The one I've had for ages is affectionately known as the BBQ. I bought it as a bog standard E36 328i auto and proceeded to throw 10K at it to make it into a really tidy msport spec car with coilovers and bucket seats. Then the engine caught fire and the lovely folks at Swann gave me the car back and $11k cash.

So.. long story short, on the way is an L98 from a VE commodore, Tr6060 box, and a lot of bleedy knuckles and swearing.
Engine due in a week so will get stuck in.
Also being a ghey, naturally I got an E46 msport 330i convertible and put the wrong offset wheels on it so it rubs and is twitchy, Great!

A libero with a poorly fitted bodykit and wheels wide enough to blow my gbox to pieces. Will only come down if its running ok though, I cant afford for it to shit itself on the way down. Would just have to kill myself if that happened, Im a student.
Did I mention terrible doors shut paint job?

Hopefully new turbo stops my blue smoke issues...

Ok this is possibly the shittest thing ever, but this car is getting parted out. The shit on it is worth fucking megadollars (to me anyway!) so get in quick and buy it all so that I can buy a house.

Soz im so fucking late. Um I guess it might be heavier, but I have never driven it. Soo... dunno! I hope its a lot better than a 20v. I would expect so - much better power curve really IMO. And i hope it doesnt understeer - I have put a lot of time into improving the suspension.
And as for cost... I havent kept count but it will be over 20k when im done. Gay. Not all engine conversion though, thats mainly due to me being shit at life. I think you could do engine conversion into a ke70 cheaper as you could fit standard plenum and use std ecu and shit. Make a big difference to cost. The quads and link setup probably adds 4-5 grand to the total cost if you go all out.

Ha I’m pretty sure that driveshaft hoop was my old one! Can’t believe it suffered that badly. Also you’re probably still using my old engine cross member, glad to see parts live on forever
