Oh yes 20b will be super nice, I’ll be happy to take any spares off your hands once you’re finished too, honestly it’s no problem

Can anyone help a bloke retain his beloved 1300? Recently moved to Christchurch from North Island and struggling to find any panel beater or rust repair person to work on my car for me. Wife wants it gone as she thinks it’s a rusty lemon but I would like to retain it. I bought it off pictures rather than inspecting in person. They are getting harder and harder to find so am worried once it gone it’s gone and my 1300 journey will be over. It’s got rust in doors and parcel tray from a leaking rear window seal and hacked 6x9s. Which the South African vendor expertly covered up with a carpeted parcel tray. Any help or referral within Christchurch or close to Christchurch would be really appreciated. South African cars seem to be met with caution by compliance centres due to quite a few bogged up kombis coming in to nz with more poo than metal. It’s the one on trademe and Facebook. It doesn’t have to be concours just enough to get me over the line with repair cert the rest of the car mechanically is sound. The last time i restored a Mazda 1000/1300 in Hamilton in 2010 i added up the receipts and it came to 6.7k for panel and paint including fitting of 2 new Phil’s door skins and front chassis rail repair - one shop here quoted me 200k without viewing the car, another wouldn’t price it but said tens of thousands which for someone on a budget with a baby is impossible to get over the line with the wife. It’s been pretty depressing journey so far / so any help or referrals would be great. Thanks in advance guys I really really don’t want to part with the car as it’s my dream car and I should never have sold my original white sedan (also pictured). Jake
