  1. Chassis rails in engine bay OK for rust?

Mazda's idea to leave a lip on the chassis rails was dumb and  it allowed anything from battery acid to water or brake fluid to pool on top of rails.

They also rust from inside out around where sway bar mounts to chassis rails.

Awesome car. Can't wait to see more.

Fresh import stickers in window from aussie i belive. Very little visible rust. Just the bottom of the doors.

And the obvious holes in the bottom quarters behind rear wheels? and obvious panel work to rear end? That is a nice car but it screams 'hidden dangers' to me.

  3. If I had a dollar for every time I heard Warren Dixon shut down, I would be rich. It seems his name is cursed with rumor and speculation. I have heard a few times that he was told to stop by his doc cause he was on verge of dying due to magnesium poisoning, the first time was 15ish years ago... And he's still going

  4. Finally got frame to sand blaster and now waiting to be finished.

Little list for my engineer buddy

    - notch coil mounts

    - weld on mount for rear brake master cylinder

    - tidy seat mount welds

    - move rear fender mount bracket

    - make bracket for ignition switch

    - weld on mounting tags for rear indicators

    - fill holes in top triple tree

  5. Last time I had to use a stat dec (which was not for the last three bikes I reregd) I also had to show proof aka evidence that I owned it to back up what I was declaring.

I have used a print out of a Trademe listing with me showing as winner or emails / proof of bank transfer. At the end of the day a declaration is just a statement that is witnessed so JP may want to see proof to back up the statement.

Then again, just like every process with land transport (an Inconsistent mess when it comes to reregistering bikes) it can depend on how the jp/entry inspector is feeling on the day or whether they actually know the rules.

In my experience about 20% of persons responsible for making these crucial decisions actually know their own rules.

  6. Should be fine with getting another lense. Fella I got the lense off owns a SC100 and a BIG load of spares.

He has the Suzuki Cappuccino F6A 3-cyl turbo engine in his.

    ticking is fuel pump

    Makara run

Engine virtually bolted in apparently. Would be kind of cool however 660cc 3-cyl turbo vs 1000cc 4-cyl cannot be that different.

    I would rather a GSXR1000 engine !

  7. Yeah I have used Biketranz about 4 times, they are awesome.

    Things I like;

They were always on time collecting or dropping off (would call if going to be late)

They took some extra boxes (parts that came with bikes) for no extra charge

They cared for the bikes, even rusting hulk bitsas.
