  1. Has been sitting a while and in a builders garage. In other words, the oily areas has a light sprinking of collected saw dust.

    I emptied the old fuel and was happy to see that the tank has been sealed :)

    I was unhappy (but happy for avoiding a possible fatality) to see that the slides in the Amal monoblock carbs are scored and rooted. When I say a possible fatality, in the condition they were found in they were likely to jam with the throttle open, potentially lethal.

    I don't know what rubbish metal Amal used to use on their slides but apparently this is a common problem.

    I am sure the frame has been re-powder coated because it is in fantastic condition.

  2. I emptied my garage of one toy - only to refill it pretty quick with this;

    Maybe its because I am 1/2 English but I have always wanted a BSA A65. Tin 1965 Lightning sign painted by a kid was the first thing to be removed.

    More to follow

  3. Made progress;

    seat being upholstered at Marshall Upholstery, new sprockets from Ze Germans, new gold chain from US, new steel brake lines coming from UK,

    I have put zorst back on, calipers fully rebuilt with new seals/pads and put back on (so I could measure up brake lines)

    All it will need is some wiring of the new speedo and electrics then test fire-up before strip down for frame to be slightly modded/powdered.

    Then I got a new toy, check my BSA.

  4. Nice project! Be cautious with those Silvia struts, I would have a chat with a certifier before getting carried away. I have heard of a Z owner having to remove a similar setup for cert, something to do with struts themselves, possibly the geometry was all wrong

  5. MOAR!

    Still got heaps to do, small steps though.

    Will look better when I fit my gaiters.

    Where I initially thought my front fender would fit, turns out it rubs so will have to come up with a cunning plan for that :(

    Guess that's the price you pay for fat tyres that are fat. Not looking forward to the handling however, without air in them the tread/sidewall merge looks almost square!

    AWWWW YEAH! Got my wheels back together after being powdered and new bearings put it. Got me tyres fitted up today.

    Sooooo happy with how it looks.

    Think I will keep the green tank on.
