  1. Was a long shot. Looks bloody well made though. Can't be bothered making a thread for my van until I actually do something to it so here's some pics It's an '83 L300 and has a '83 Sigma engine. Might start a thread some day.
  2. Man your roof racks are fucking sweet. Would you make more for $. Got an '83 L300 used for camping times but have a queen bed that takes up the whole back of the van. Super comfy though.
  3. Yeah just wanted to make sure I'm looking at the right stuff. I'm guessing I'm gonna have to do a fair bit on any engine I get. Just don't want anything that needs expensive shit I can't do myself with a Haynes and a well stocked tool box.
  4. Would this be the right manual? Fucking hope so for $10 edit: uh, link here woops http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 602115.htm would be suitable for this engine http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =201637841 ??
  5. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =201637841 Thinking of getting this for my car. Guy will do engine, flywheel, clutch, gearbox, dizzy and manifolds for an extra 80 too. Reckon that's decent anyone?
  6. Too drunk for this shit. MMmmmmmmmmmmmm fuck Lonely Drinking Hearts Club. Going to ship it to Christchurch I think and found a A12 engine on Trademe with gearbox etc and all ancillary shit just put that in not worry about this carry on but will fuck with it just for a bit of an experience and get to fiddle with something that I don't care if/most definitely will break in the process.
  7. I'm gonna take the plugs out tomorrow to have a good look. I really hope it's something minor like that but I fear the worst. Fucking sucks having to work on my car in the street though.
  8. I think it's definitely catastrophic something. Will see if I can work on it tomorrow at all.
  9. I replaced the plugs, leads and dizzy cap just over 2 months ago so I shouldn't think anything would have gone wrong there? Had a look anyway and they all seemed fine. took off the rocker cover and everything seemed to be moving fine. Really don't want to have to try and rebuild an engine with no garage to work in/keep the car in. Ahhhh.
  10. Took my car to the garage yesterday to find out why it was running like shit, guy set the timing 'cos the dizzy came loose. Started running bad when I was driving back from Hawkes Bay. Made a loud pop/bang (or pang) and slowed down a lot. The guy in the garage was trying to tell me something about compression testing, valves something etc but I stopped listening hoping he was wrong. When I got it home I tried taking one lead off at a time and found it was the 1st cylinder that's bung. But what do I do? Is it worth doing it considering I will be replacing the engine in a few months? What can I expect to pay? I really do need it and was meant to be driving back to the bay this weekend (which is postponed) but don't know where to start.
  11. Where do you work? Would be keen (when I get some money to start the conversion) to talk to someone with a bit of experience doing it.
  12. I'm wanting to give my Morri a bit more power and was wanting some advice on what's the best way to go about this. Been looking on Trademe for a while and have found these two engines. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =200002392 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =199440255 Not sure if either of them would be suitable. Would do a rebuild of the engine first of course as they're both pretty rough and would need to source other parts like gearbox etc. Would like the 1500 but if the 1200 is going to be less hassle then would do that. any help?? Cheers
  13. Only new thing. Makes the car look a thousand times more fly.
  14. Trying to decide what colour I want to paint it when I scrounge up the dosh. Did a quick as mock up on photoshop to see. I reckon it's gotta be either Red, Orange or the Light Blue one. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Purple Red Tealy sorta colour Yellow Orange Light Blue Green Gold/Yellow Chucked the Turbo's next to car to see what it would like. Wish they fitted!
  15. Unemployment sucks. Won't be working on car for a while. Give me a job. I live in Wellington.
  16. Sorry all the pics are shitty but I've only got a crap camera. Got a cheap offcut of carpet. Only a temp I reck since it doesn't fit perfectly. But for $30 I can't complain. Still got a couple of bits to hand sew to tidy it up a tad. And a really poor quality pic of my bad ass old metal first aid kit. Came in handy the other night when my girlfriend got blinded by my new headlights and fell over
  17. Anyone got suggestions on wheels or have some that they wanna sell? (ones that will fit on now with no machining)
  18. So have finally got around to working on my car but time is limited since I don't have a garage or even a driveway to work on it so have to make trips to Hawkes Bay to do most stuff, plus my brother is a auto sparky so he helps out. Does anyone know a good place in Wellington to get my rotten floor patched up? The last owner has obviously tried but did a shit job 'cos it's rusting out again. Cracks are where the seats are so hoping I don't scrape my ass on the ground next time I go over a big bump or somit'. Chur My choice car
  19. Took out carpet today, rust in floor is big and lots of cracks/holes. Got to sort out something or it'll be a flinstones car in no time. Anyone in Hastings or Wellington keen with welding?? Haha. Actually surprised it's been getting through warrants. Mustn't be very thorough. Took some pics to show extent of damage Silicone gunk filled hole in chasis And a hole from underneath Also got pics of boot and hidden stereo. Fuck taking off the face plate every time you hop out the car (bloody Hastings) Took out rotten boot and put in new wood with carpet. Tu meke Discussion shit
  20. Things done to date Lynx Ram Flo Air Filter CD Player w/ 4" + 6x9s + 10" slim Rockford Fosgate woofer = awesomely loud tin can. Part number is TL72) A Bad as OS sticker on the front and back Luggage Rack Headlight peaks
  21. Had the car for over a year, figure I should finally put it on here. Motivation for buying=rolled my choice Escort last year: Paid $750 Pics of it the day I got it: 3/4 View Awesome astro turf carpets Grubby Ass engine bay Full Frontal Specs: Top speed 80mph/130kmh 0-60mph in about five minutes Sounds- loud as
  22. I've got some Turbos that were on my -now deceased- MKII Escort and was really wondering if there is a way to get them to fit either by altering the car or the wheels somehow. Can you get them redrilled or anything to fit?
  23. Hmmmmm not really too sure on some things. I'll take some pics of the engine bay later and let you be the judge. As for the rear seal I don't think that's too bad atm as the leaks are all visible from the top of the engine. It seems to come out of everywhere though so may need a lot of work done ie even the spark plugs get oily and leak.
  24. Got pissed off with the old piece of shit distributor cap too and found a mini one fits perfect so can put normal leads on. Well pleased. Running well now with all new leads and plugs and big bro tuned it. Does use a lot of oil but that's to be expected. Any good tricks for sealing up leaks though? Have replaced the side plate gaskets twice now and used a shit load of gasket goo stuff on it but they still leak. Goes through (in leaks) 3ltrs of oil every thousand kms which can't be normal. Also does any one know the stud spacing on Morri's? Want some nicer wheels and want to know if they're the same as any other cars?
  25. Thanks for all the replies. After all that it was just the lead from the distributor to the coil that was fucked. Knew it would be the simplest thing that would fix it. Chuuurr fullaz
