  1. So trackday has been and gone with the car mostly intact.. I had a big off at the hairpin, was doing an awesome full lock drift then next thing I know all this dirt and shit is blowing into my face through the window. No damage, but one of the rear tyres now has a clump of grass jammed between it and the rim In the afternoon I did 7 laps hard out before the pedal went to the floor and I thought it best to pull in for a while. Not bad for a 30 year old car.. Also my brake reservoir cracked and pissed fluid everywhere, have to find another out of something else as these are not available anymore, apparently BMW 540/740 ones can be modded to fit - anyone got one? The seat was pretty good, I semi covered it in camping roll the night before; Rough but semi effective.
  2. Thanks to Dodgysam ( ) longbike now has high tech chain tension The chain jumped and jammed on the way home from work on Friday, the tensioners arrived on Saturday...
  3. Ah did you see me give it a wee bit?
  4. Track day on Saturday so I thought I would actually try to finish my seat, this is today's effort; It is really quite comfy and my helmet fits too... Will cut belt holes etc tonight hopefully then find something to line them with. Then I need to find some padding, probably foam held down with duct tape for max rang spec.
  5. Yea, was just picking it up after getting a wheel alignment done post epic suspension improvements, is minty mint now. Traffic is totally shit in that car, until you hit a clear spot then it is bazookas...
  6. So longbike has back brakes now which is a good thing. I rode it to work today and gave many, many of the denizens of Christchurch a chance to think to themselves 'What the fuck?' and ponder on the meaning of such a remarkable sight.
  7. And if anybody is interested I have a whole lot of non leading link ct90 bits, 2 frames, 1 98% complete engine etc. Will be flicking that shit on once this is all go. probly.
  8. Todays efforts; Exhaust is just sitting there, was a brand new item that I got for $1 off TM. Probly going to do a serious rerout of that tho. Random bike light that I may use if I can fit the right bulb in, really need a 5" teardrop for the original light. Now need to wire it up, fuck I am dumb about electrickery/end of project

  10. Should be bolt in....? and I have a spare engine now.....
  11. So just picked this engine up, CT110 with CDI $60 off TM, looks pretty sweet actually. Side cover has been removed roughly and the neutral switch is broke, but *apparently* all that is actually wrong with it is the CDI unit has a tab broken off. I can see that this is so, so fingers crossed. Looks pretty genuine otherwise, has the carb and everything
  12. I have just put a new chain on which has vastly improved the chain jumping issue, still need extra tensioning probably. Waiting for rain so it will rust sooner.
  13. yea I have another ct90 engine to pick up tomorrow, if the chain jumping issue was sorted I would probably do it.
  14. Be up for that, has happened already but I assumed it was the two extremely secondhand chain I have used. let me know how much.
  15. just bought that motor, $60 too good to pass it up.
  16. You can always join the cables, but I think there might be enough excess on replacement cables to cope maybe. I bailed up the postman yesterday and checked out his bike, it looks like a standard cable going to a twist grip shifter. It will never be a performance machine so a huge range isnt an issue, therefore postie hub would be perfect. I don't like derailleurs much anyway.
  17. This will be achieved today. If any peeps have one of those sweet old aluminium mudguards I want them, also a sprung leather saddle of some variety. Will pay money probably.
  18. So I just went for the inaugural Longbike ride just now, was pretty sweet actually. It only had front brakes and one gear but that will be sorted soon... it did have brand new T7 MTB slicks that cost $17 each - win. Handling was interesting but not too far from acceptable, it could probably use some extra steering rake as you cant ride no hands - certain death would be the result of following through such experiments. Stripped all the paint off it today as well, probably just going to let it develop sweet rust. Probably going to chuck a postie bike 5 speed rear hub onto it, can get a full wheel and shifter for $355 brand spankers. Boom muthafucks
  19. Not a great fan of that look TBH but I did consider it. If it needs it I will probably put another horizontal bar in where the bracing hits the uptube. it appears more rigid than schoolboy with a stickmag as it is but I guess the upright might bend coming down from big air. The question should be "what are the things I cannot achieve with this bitch" and the answer would be "nothing". Just think how much beer, building product, engine parts, chicks, vegetation, camping gear etc can be transported on this thing......the opportunities are literally endless.
  20. A car, I have just replaced the front control arms and am about to do a rear wheel bearing on the X which involves dismantling everything within a 1 meter radius of the wheel, no doubt will be splayed like a coked up hooker when I am done.
  21. Is there an OS friendly alignment place in chch that is still open? The one I usually go to is in the cordon/was not that friendly.
