  3. got the motor back, just waiting on some motivation to put it in, anyways heres a better photo
  4. motor all painted up, looks alot better than before, as you can see i ended up forking out for a billet flywheel through green brothers of tauranga. $360 not too bad of a price, its a 10ib , i did want something a bit heavier but im not complaining, apparently the clutch turns up tomorrow
  5. apparently its a single but he can get 2 cars in there
  6. got my sump all done, but my flywheel is way too light (7ibs) so have to find another one, am tempted to spend $400 for a billet one but we will see, any ways this is wat its lookin like at the mo. still got to paint it up so ida and waterpump will come off, sump been painted up etc
  7. ive been in 2 houses since the jerv, no ones there any mo, eyah catch up with all you fellah wen u r up next. havel bought a house off pohutukawa, his old lady got him a deposit
  8. nah nages aint doing it. a guy by the name of mike is , hes built heaps of motors. good cunt for booking mine in on such short notice. yep thts wat the plate does, dont want to run bearings dry when im chucking the van around.
  9. probly b better than a scatter blanket , they dont seem to do much. i will do my homewerk on them tho. anyways mota comes back sometime this week will get more pics up then
  10. yeah it has to be at least 6mm plating dont know wat width and length is yet
  11. yeah just found out they dont whine but if i break one belt it will still run so at least i wont get stuck any where. yeah this vans being built to pull a good skid, should have a pretty tuff set up.....but not till i get a scatter shield. anyways put some more pics up today, ive been spending up a storm
  12. baffle plate is made up now $50, cheap insurance it is
  13. well, theres no f**king round here just picked up my new toy. paid good money for it 2, god bless selling the crown. 48 ida on high rise manifold with medium size k&n mite be to tall for the van, will have to see
  14. nah i dont think he has, he painted billy's bongo on the w/e, havnt seen it yet. bought the 13b off trademe 2 weeks ago, got good compression, originally it came from a series 3 rx7, but was removed from an rx2 that was being restored. standard tall port, inlet tracts on centre plate are quite sizeable in standard form. so yeah motors down getting all the shit bolted up, i didnt want to do the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate as i dont trust myself as i am basically sitting on the motor so thats all getting done at the same time as the other shit
  15. yeah this ones got a good box in it, seats are pretty ripped up, but its been marine carpeted through out, i got one pic of it but its got nik in it bein an idiot, nothing in the back yet but i want to get a fold out couch in there
  16. shit i never realised there was a project discussion page. yeah its a bastard to pull the motor out of a van, couldnt get it high enough to pull it out from underneath, and you can really get a hoist in unless you take a door off. twin pulleys are not for anythng special they are just poor mans gilmer drives. it should have a little whine to it.
  17. just picked up my alternater twin pulley
  18. heres the pic of the new block gave it a good degrease today and then sent it off to my mate who rebuilds engines. getting new leads, plugs, sump baffle plate to stop oil surge, 4 puck clutch , pressure plate which will be retensioned to 1600ibs, port match my inlet manifold, double pulley for alternator so i can run 2 belts, new sump bolts and pressure plate bolts, and gaskets . should have tht back by next week
  19. ok guys i know its not realy old school but its a project none the less. picked it up off a guy from auckland a month ago. motor was poked as the rear oil cooler line came off and he didnt have an oil pressure guage so by the time he found out it was too late. heres some pics of it the day it got back to my pad. has a bit of a dent in the front but im not concerned with tht at the mo. this is the old motor. 13b bridge port there wasnt much to play with when i cracked her open so sold the plates and the 1 decent rotor to fund a new motor. the boys gettin in there. typical tho, when you really need help no ones there but this time i was sweet and 5 of the boys rolled round to help me pull it out! . bought a 13b tallport last week, will put pics up of tht soon
