    yeh, i like the idea of a rugged mild steel pipe out the rear, but i bought this dumptip bigbore ages ago and dont want it ending up a waste of money, so id rather use what it, it will also act as another resinator which i need. in the future ill probably remove the ricecannon and put a proper sports muffler on the rear, and have a 3" mild steel pipe coming out. alos the cortina is much bigger than an escort, and something big out the back doesnt look out of place like it does on escorts, atm on my banged up cortina i have a rice cannon on the rear, 4" straight tip and it doesnt even look too bad ay [/url]

    sounds like what im gonna have, but mine will be 2" cuz i dont want it too loud ay, a loud car is just asking to be picked on by the piggies, which i have learnt in the past year.

    i hate the boyracer stereotype, and loud exhaust is the first sign. ive had a mega loud exhuast, had my fun with my first car and thrashed the fuck outa it. now its time for a nice cruising car, ive already spent a couple of grand on this car getting it mint so may aswell not be let down on the exhaust, all im after is something which isnt loud, but if i rev it those little cunts in there jappas know it has some balls, also one which doesnt wake up the whole street when i roll on home early hours of the morning quite a few nights a week.

    thats only half of it. i dont want a loud car anymore, im over the craze, and deaf from me last car. and if new laws are supposily coming in, then i want to make sure my car is all legit, becuase those piggies arent scamming another cent off me.

    well kind of, but its offcenter( on a diagonal from one corner to the other, and has a way larger barrel than a coby, its about 20cm wide, 40cm long 10cm high. so alot more noise is absorbed inside it.

    nah, its rotary styles i wanted to stay away from cobys beucase of the laws that "might" be coming in next year. so i got a barrel muffler whcih is offset, but seriously its a coby inside, i can see straight thru it, its just on a diagonal. its undercover, beucase when its in, how are they gonna know what the setup is inside, for all they know it is more or less a factory item. but i know different

    '323 isnt that cheap really, i talked to woolf mufflers and they quoted me 450 for extractors and whole system with 2 cobys cobys = shit according to all the professionals, also bear in mind, my dumpy exhuast was 150, which is half of the price, if i had mild steel out the end, it would only be $175, and if i use a coby instead of a proper exhaust would only be $125. all goes down to personal preference, at a muffler shop i was quoted $650 for what im going to do for $320. i would have went coby, but i want to try make my exhuast more legit, im going for performance, not loudness, as new laws are coming out early next year, apparently we all must have 2 proper mufflers in our cars, and cant be much louder than factory. pigs will also be cracking down harder on exhuasts and will be pink stickering more cars, meaning we will all have to go to testign stations and get fucked over for every other little thing wrong with out cars. im building this exhuast so when this law comes into place ill be half way there, and all ill have to do it put a proper muffler on the rear(stainless steel bigbores arent counted as mufflers/neither are cobys) this is all according to a couple of exhaust shops ive spoken too. loud exhausts are shit after a while, i have had a straight thru no mufflers + a big bore on the end on the tina for over a year now, anyone that knows my car will agree its up there with one of the loudest cars they know. if i could have a completely silent exhaust with the performancei would id love to be able to sneak around, after having people knowing your coming 100m away.

    got the piping free, dumpy bigbore was 148, the u bend was 25, the adapter was 15, and the muffler was 135. so that comes to a total cost of $323 and ill be attempting all the welding myself

    ok, i went to the exhaust shop, got all the other shit i need for my exhaust. i got a proper barrel muffler which is offset, but just like a coby inside, some bends, and an adaptor so i can weld the bigbore on the end. it better be good when i weld it all up. my system, will be 421 extractors, 45degree bend, 2" piping to my new muffler, 2" piping back to just before the diff, original 1.75" bends over the diff, then my 2.5" inlet bigbore at the end with 4" dump tip hope it isnt too loud but

    yeh, im thinking of having this setup on my pinto, 4-2-1 extractors, 2" piping, dumpy big bore at the end, im undecided what to put in the middle as of this stage, i might just keep the original one in.

    atm, i have standard mk5 exhaust, with center muffler cut out, 2" piping welded in place, and a 2.5" big bore jappa thing at the rear. ive had no trouble with it yet, anyone whos seen my car will say its loud etc. but i have the new cortina not far away and wanted something a bit more "legal" like put a proper baffled muffler in there somewhere and increase the pipe to 2.25" with a dumpy muffler on the end. that proved too hard for that muffler shop, and they were trying to con me into fitting a brandnew original spec exhuast for $600 they gotta be joking. anyway i scored a few meters of 2" stainless piping of a friends dad, and thought id just give it a shot myself, and only put the dumpy on the end, see what its like for sound/performance, then from there id either fit the stock center muffler back in or go buy a sports one. what do you guys reckon?

    what kind of exhausts do you guys have on your cars? eg pipe dia, how many mufflers, what kind etc... apparently theres some new law coming out early next year, which requires car to have exhausts up to factory standards or something, that means at least 2 baffled mufflers and not significantly louder than standard . i was talking to the lady at midas today, she says that all us "young boy racers" are gonna have to change out exhuasts and get them up to legal standards or we will all get pink stickerd. she wouldnt do my exhuast how i wanted it to be done i was paying cash!, but no. spose im gonna have to get some piping and weld it all up myself .

    bro, just get all the wires, and test them all, arm the alarm, then earth them one at a time, the one that sets off the alarm is the one you connect to the sensors/

  21. i have a bosch gt40r, fine for me, but then again i have a standard engine. might be different when your engine is a bit more demanding. id be interested in getting on of them msd ones and actually seeing if there is a difference and what its like
