  1. Does have a lap belt, bit tricky to see as it is black as well. Has worked fine so far, she loves the attention!
  2. #LikeaBoss Raised heaps of money for Breast Cancer Research at the wife's netball club on Saturday and went for a cruise through the local arts markets today. So many people stopped us for photos or to ask where I got it, many jealous dads
  3. Getting there. Seat base built (just going to trim temporarily at this stage), floor cut, folded and fitted (big thank you again to De Lena Metals) and even buffed the body as it's maiden voyage is this weekend for my wife's Netball Club breast cancer fundraiser. To do list: Mount lake pipes Find better front wheels Replace galv pipe handle with something nicer Get seat properly trimmed Panel & Paint
  4. Finished off the rolling chassis today. My mate did a great job on the welds and everything came together pretty well. Just need to make seat, add floor, fit lake pipes, weld holes in body and paint. And one for anglia4
  5. So made some progress finally with the main chassis section all tacked together and heights checked for wheel mounting. Just need to finish the welds, find and mount a suitable castor wheel now I know how big it needs to be and sort out the push bar handle and mount. Then will be a roller and can sort paint and seat out.
  6. Loving the build and your boss must be a saint! Bikes and shit everywhere!
  7. Thanks mate Downhill with a tailwind has seen 135 on the dial. The front sprocket has been changed for more acceleration
  8. Thats the plan. I have an old motorcycle battery that I was going to try to start off with, will just charge it up at home. Was thinking about getting some small speakers and running an iPod in the "dash"
  9. only problem is you get limited steering angle
  10. Thought I might as well post up a build thread for my latest project. Building a hot rod push stroller for my daughter to cruise around in. Starting point was an Instep Hot Rod Pedal Car which is a reproduction of the 1950's Murray Dipside pedal car. Imported from the US and looks like this stock: And here is a sample of what I am aiming for: Wanting to add working headlights, tuck and roll seat, ghost flames, pin-striping, dashboard etc. A mate of mine is helping me with welding up the frame. Not 100% settled on final chassis layout, will just see how it all comes together as we go. There is also a body shop looking to run a 1 day course on prepping and painting motorcycle tanks including basic graphics and flames and they said I could bring the pedal car body along. Basic plan is for a simple box frame which will be powder coated. The rear wheels are smaller to get the back end nice and low while the front wheels will be held just off the ground by a swivel castor in the centre of the front end. When she gets a bit older I might try to remove the castor and change the front section to allow steering and run an electric motor to the rear wheels. Feel free to suggest improvements to the chassis design too Rough plans: Mockup: Hope to have the chassis finished off in the next few weekends and ready to cruise around by the time she can sit unsupported!
  11. Hey mate, looks like it is definitely a stock GB500 solo seat that they have re-shaped the hump on to be more two-up friendly. 28 inches long, hump is 7-ish inches high at its peak and the humped section makes up the rear 16-ish inches Photos of seat: Only thing I don't like is they should have used higher density foam for the hump as it is a little lumpy just as it crosses over the built-in storage section.
  12. Thanks mate, I went to the original importer and they said the customised a humped seat from a GB500 to suit a pillon. Will grab some pics and upload shortly
  13. Thanks guys. At this stage it will be just getting the spokes and engine cases polished and once I get my licence I want to ditch the rear grab rail, relocate the indicators, re-shape the seat and tuck the tail light and number plate up with the rear guard removed. Will lower the head light, gauges and clipons too.
  14. Thought I might pop a thread up about the GB400 I picked up recently as I slowly try to tidy up some of the dodgy bits. Day one at home: Plenty of dodgy bits to choose from. First problem was there was zero rear brake. The seat had a big hole in the rear section and was held on to the bike with a nylon strap. The bar-end mirrors have stupidly long bolts that very nearly hit the tank, the battery was rooted, air filter was black, rear tyre was square, foot peg rubber consisted mainly of blue electrical tape, front guard looked to have been finger painted by a 2 year old and generally pretty grubby but was running well. After a new air filter, oil change, rear tyre, battery and fresh foot peg rubbers I started stripping the bike down to polish all the stainless bits. I chopped the huge front guard down a bit and painted it matte black to hide it a bit. And this is how it looks at the moment. Just want to tidy up the engine covers and casings a bit more, sort out the ugly exhaust box and bar end mirrors. Might also lower the clip-ons, guages and head light but just enjoying riding it for now.
  15. Carby float bowl might be cactus?
  16. I want to move back to NZ. Awesome pics and looks like a great weekend!
  17. Not sealing? Might need to flow brass over the joins? Would look pretty cool raw finish with brushed back brass edges/weld lines
  18. Fuck that is more epic than I ever thought it would end up being! Lots of pics of Manfield trip pls!
  19. Fuck yes! What a difference a bit of paint on the frame makes! Looking good man. Did that camera charger arrive? And Mum, I thought we discussed this?
  20. So lush. That is one serious static drop!
  21. Coming together man! Looks awesome! Your new camera charger should be there soon so you can start taking some decent pics. I notice mum has been in on the action too, I told her to stop being such a slut on the forums, its bad enough she does it in public...
