I've got one of these little swagers (just the main part) and never knew exactly what it was. This one is more complete with the 'inserts' that allow it to be used for different pipe sizes. Quite cool
(kinda pricey though)

I just checked, they do not achieve any meaningful standard for beam pattern.
They are so shit I am not even sure they are worth selling on.

Yeah the first lot of oil that goes through this engine will get dumped pretty quick, pretty much used as clean up purge and then I'll decide on what goes in next. Opinions on oil via forums I think even oldschool has an old oil thread somewhere. The grandmaster thread is possibly the one on some ferrari forum I once found.
Used K11 juice should be perfect.

Are there other good places to look for used cars for sale apart from Trademe?

Same place, or pay for a whole new WOF I think.

Great engine, pretty good cars. Based on IS 250/350 chassis. Back seat and driving position a little more compact than you'd like, but boot space is good. Can't buy a towbar for them either. Can be hard to find aftermarket wheels that clear brakes/offset if you were thinking of that.
Would you consider a V6 instead of a V8? I went for a 2012+ GS350 (especially F-sport) as it has a bigger interior, and does all the same sporty things (0-100 in 5.5sec, adaptive shocks, big brakes etc). 9L/100km on open road for non-hybrids. Hybrids get around 7ish? About 10-15k cheaper than ISF.
I do 30,000kms/year of work/travel/commuting and love it. Can fit the family on a trip away, tow a trailer and its stupid fast when you find a wiggly backroad. Win win.
Do the hybrids make much difference for open road trips? We are looking at moving so I expect to be up/down the island a bit while that gets worked out, then an eventual 150km round trip rural commute to H-town.

I need to give each coat a couple of days to dry now it is cooler.
So, attacked the other leaf spring pivot bolt tonight.
A bit loose in there, nearing Al's mum spec.
U-bolt might be hard to get off?
Nope.
The spring centre bolt had lost its nut somewhere along the way, so the lower leaves came apart.
This side is only getting a clean and re-paint, no re-arching.

I was worried about a lot of that sort of thing, but the cert man didn’t seem too bothered. It’s in a big heavy car though.

It's really easy to make your own 4-bars. I did for the Mercury and they passed cert and haven't broken yet.
I also just put the bars where they fit. Calculators? pfft, unless you are going racing or something.

Sorted out the Amayama shipping issue.
I needed to have the matching destination selected on the item before adding it to the shopping cart.
Why not just leave the dent?

Assembled the lower door panels with only one major fuckup (will see how that crack in the outer ply skin goes in the future )
Going to do a bit differently and give it a couple or three coats of varnish assembled like this before they go back on the car.
Also welded up the loose hole (insert Al's mum joke here) and ground it round again ready to reassemble the suspension.
