  1. yeah possibly? might take the strut off and make a mockup or something, but how to get it exact im not sure. then eugene (2jz ae85 fella) said he had all alloy RCA's and they sheared and snapped off under load - and advised steel sleeves be pressed in. this was on the track so i dont know if needed for street use but yeah, grade of aluminium has to be right too?? T60-61 perhaps? i think T50 is too soft and t70 too brittle???
  2. hey lowgan your ride is sweet too cheers for the comments anyone got tips on someone reliable to mill aluminimum RCA's? also, what grade aluminium? im sick of my non cambered front wheels chur to the chur
  3. ok so. took her down to the mount for new yrs as i mentioned and it was overheating heaps due to crack in radiator top tank anyway after a number of times overheating and cooling, headgasket blew. running on 5 at idle and low rpm, i guess water blowing out spark or ssomething. also exhaust leak around turbo emitting fumes and silly chuffing sound on idle. swapped in new supra twin core rad, now in shop getting new headgasket cambelt and waterpump. hoping to get it done by easter. also on the cards - need someone to mill me some RCA's, maybe steel sleeved, to kick the fronts out - anyone had this done from a machine show somewhere before?
  4. its come a way since i started, look at these old pics.... original: conceptual: actual: original: conceptual: actual: heh!! interesting how the front lawn flora and fauna changes too. haha
  5. lex - $500 from steve at demon al - thank you! means alot and yes i am rather smiling!! this car isnt anything over the top craftmanship or whatnot but i think on a reasonable budget shes come out with a unique look and a fair bit of go to match, so im pleased if it inspires anyone! thanks!
  6. churs! and yeah forgot to mention, props to demon graphics thoroughly recommended, steve and the crew are real professional, ultra freindly and non critical, and a great job done at a great price - send your work his way!!!
  7. i took the proper camera (its still my old as fuck 3.3MP fuji) to take some pics, quality should be better than the nokia anyway, so heres the basically completed project conceptual: actual: conceptual: actual: and the rest - !!! + girlie friend sara in the pics sweeet!
  8. haha - yeah i could gladwrap the holes up and use it as a salad bowl too i guess, at a boso bbq party or as round subwoofer boxes just seal each one with a 15" sub and so on oh yes katakana on the side of the car spells "ro fu ri ku" say it fast = "lofreq" ..........see? waahey!
  9. thanks! im stoaked with it - i was staring at it yesterday marvelling at how its real and no longer a photoshop image in my head i pissed eliot off cus i took too long, and then painted it black - but its ok cus he started this thread anyway ;D star exhaust not for daily but maybe for show... are the meet photos up anywhere? was an impressive turnout!
  10. chur chur wasnt meant to be advan copy, so not worried on acccuracy, just wanted something period looking could sack it alot more but it would mean losing those wheels, wider rims wouldnt be visible as the width would go to the inside of the wheel not the external dish, ie offset would change but lip size/dish size wouldnt get any bigger, or massive guard rub issues since its meant to be drivable on nz roads she'll have to stay at that height while im using those rims im on 185/55 front 195/55 rear so i will however swap to 50 profile on next tyre change and then drop it a bit so no worries there, 55 is a bit tall im pleased with the result! so far few ppl have come up saying "hey boring car seen these around everywhere" so i think im on right track whats next? jzx91 i think... bye!!!!!!
  11. so when i heard mark ae25was organizing an old school meet, i had a few days left to make an effort to get her sorted so, swapped cracked radiator for a '96 supra twin core one, twin fans from a nissan wagon thing, vinyl by Demon Graphics, front lip, rebadged proudly mark II, plus maybe a few more impromptu sticker action, like it or not, whatever its too late so basically heres the result project is basically done, its wof'd reg'd and certed, only few small mecchanical things need doing butafter whenever itwas that i started this project, here we are. things id like to do: - front RCA camber adjustment - appropriate rear spoiler - new headgasket - apexi s-afc - 22psi - 1/4 mile run - drift day see what happens eh! cheers to all who made the meet - those ms-65 things were mint, that lada wagon is awesome, and everything else - was nice as to be in a carpark without 180sx's, silvias, wrxs and evos - shot everyone pics from the meet to come. thanks for watching.
  12. com,e over man should be enuf yotas to make a good cruise line thru mission bay area need a fcd, power fC and few more psi aye.... i think its ONEMIN TO XMAS did santa bring me a powerFC????????
  13. i think wheels are ok width its just the offset thats not as extreme so visual effect is changed. had to make it drivable on nz roads :/ i miss the 10s but dont miss the scraping visually the inset front wheels are poos it will look more balanced when thats corrected. also going black takes away from the traditional look so looks weird now pre-advan so see how it looks after vinyl is on - will go see demon graphics in the new yr iv actually thought a bit about the decision to go black. i dunno. too late now really but watever fuckin fun to drive i just got home from shore, wasted a new v8 falcon thing that tried to pass me twice on the wrong side, out accelerated him both times he was gutted as, finally sat in slow lane and let him have his limelite, he roared off slowly bahaha loved it 5min to xmas!!!!!!!!
  14. ok so car's basically done and all legal and on the road. phew! http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewto ... 436#261436 fuckin fun to driive man happy xmas everyone!
  15. so anyway been working hard at this thing driveshaft loop done, all cert requirements done, rah rah so 1 year and 1 week after pink sticker, this thing is wof'd, reg'd and certed on the road again yesssssss single turbo conversion done, boost controller in, about 18-20psi madness flies off the road... sounds cool ok so ONLY things left now are some RCA things or whatever to offset the lower strut mounts to kick the front tyres out and give some camber - like this: and the vinyl of course, that should wrap this project up nicely. sorry its taken so long. what can i say. merry xmas! xox
  16. sweet so car is getting cert, now i need help with the driveshaft shield thing who does driveshaft loop installations? are there standard 'bolt in' driveshaft loops that you can buy and fit yourself or are all loops hand made these days? and, who'd you recommend? meanwhile demon graphics gave me the MEAN deal on the graphics... i am going there! demon>speedy>rocketSigntists>sign-a-rama
  17. vehicle has been inspected by Neil Fraser, what a good guy!!!!! needs 5 things done: heat shield to guard power steer lines from exhaust, front axle 360degree shield, change rear wheel nuts to standard, put the glove box back in(!!) and show him some correspondence that the wheels were manufactured by Elite in chch and not some monkey down the street saweet!
  18. car's booked in for cert wednesday 14th, all going well vehicle then goes for WOF and REG, then vinyl prob suss out front panels and headlight surrounds this weekend, and clean out the interior for inspection anyone know what needs to be prepped for CERT inspection?
