Would you care to explain to your wife why her Rav4 is off the road for an expensive exhaust system replacement ?
Having the daily runabout or partner's car hit is probably more time and energy consuming than any of us need or want.
What did she drive over this time?

I like how the op doesn't listen to posts and could've jist sorted this out on his own instead of publicly on his own.

You will be fine, those markings are there because they won't have any certification. so can't be used commercially. its mostly an arse covering exercise.

This seems to be the common approach for councils,
QuoteSteps to removing an abandoned vehicle
- Parking Officers will be dispatched to issue any applicable infringement notices.
- Staff will try to locate and notify the owner of the vehicle using registration details, engine or chassis numbers.
- The vehicle may be moved for storage if necessary, but the police must first be formally notified.
- If the owner doesn't respond AT will advertise its intention to either sell the vehicle within ten days or dispose of it in other ways. If AT assess the vehicle to have no value, advertising may not be necessary.
- AT declare the vehicle abandoned if an owner or interested party (eg.a finance company) don't come forward.
- Once deemed abandoned, the vehicle is legally deregistered and sold to cover towing, storage or other costs. The vehicle can be disposed of by AT or a new buyer.
- Vehicles aren't always removed while investigations take place.
- If the abandoned vehicle is claimed before a sale it will be returned to the registered owner once they make a payment for costs incurred.
- If the vehicle sells, AT will deduct costs and any other proceeds will be kept for 12 months. The previous owner can claim the proceeds during that period.
The same steps apply to NZTA for vehicles abandoned on motorways or state highways. For more information, view Section 356 of the Local Government Act 1974.
I imagine you would need to follow a similar process.

'reasonable steps' to contact owner I believe, i.e. public notice in classified section. probably have to attempt to reach out via social media these days too.

@Corbie What happened to the old 1750 engine in the end? You wouldnt still have it, or the inlet manifold/carbs still kicking around taking up space?
Right, so what I could find was. 2x HIF4 carb. on a B? series manifold.
E series manifold with spaces. I don't think I have the links to suit the E series
2x pancake filters.
2x carb body covers.
Heatshield.
and a Jameson hip flask.
