  1. Just found these valves? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Water-Air-Ga ... 1074wt_689 Would they do the trick? I can't see how they are any different to these http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 657696.htm
  2. I added two leaves either side in my KE70 and it's stiffened it up nicely. I don't think one leaf would be enough, well it wouldn't have been for mine.
  3. Cheers for that I'll ring them.
  4. I'm planning a column change setup for my next project, a 1994 Toyota Surf. So what I need to know is what model hilux came out with 5 speed column change? Will a G/W series box fit behind a 1KZ or will I have to use a 2LT engine? Or if I have to stick with auto then a Granvia column shift auto might work perhaps?
  5. Love this wagon. Wheels and height look good. Keep it up.
  6. Yeah I've never had tints before as I'm not a fan on older cars but I think this car might suit them.
  7. My daily is a 1999 VW Passat. I took it in to our local tinting shop today to have the windows tinted but they brought it back saying they were unable to tint them because they already have a coating on them. They said they hadn't seen it before and couldn't remove it with anything. On the front door windows you can see an edge near the top of the windows where the coasting stops but the edge is very smooth and you cant scrape it. It has a real light blue tinge to it. Wondering if anyone else has seen or heard of this on their car? I'm assuming it's like a factory UV coating or something. The tinting guy kept saying that I would be able to see it underneath and it would look ugly. Should I get the tints put on anyway?
  8. Yeah just makes things a little more difficult aye. We've had the place for around 2.5 years so it could of been when we were here?
  9. Alright so over the last week I have removed the battery cable from under the car and run it inside the car to stop it dragging on the road (battery in boot). Also had the front half of the exhaust lifted making it driveable but it has made the rear section bang on the diff every bump I hit so more work is needed sometime. Seeing it over the pit also gave me more problems. One of the axle seals is leaking badly all through one of the drums. The fuel pump is wired badly and the wiring is hanging down. And due to the exhaust shop moving my loom slightly it now had a rather big melted section where it was left sitting on my extractors. So it seems once again its one step forward two steps back. Will get more pics this weekend...
  10. Good news: -Cleaned up and tightened some connections (coil was just sitting loose in the engine bay) and is running way better. -Found i have room to lift the exhaust around 2 inches which should cure my belly drag problems. -The overheating may have been an air lock or something as we managed to get another litre or two of water into it this morning and had no more overheating troubles today. Bad news: -Alternator appears to have died so I need to sort out a replacement.
  11. Got to take it in for an alignment and find out. Think one side is more cambered than the other My overheating was real strange, it was up and down all over the show. Wondering if something is up with the gauge but it seems to work fine at first when warming up so who knows.
  12. Took this for a test run last night out the back roads. Cleans up cats eyes and any uneven patches in the road and leaves great trails of sparks. Needs the plate "GRADER". But handles real well and isn't very bouncy which is great. Have to sort out some issues now though as it is losing charge and couldn't handle headlights and wipers on the way home. Also it seems to be overheating at strange times. Hopefully sort all of this out this weekend though. Sorry no pictures to show.
  13. Haha yeah hunting for another chrome/polished one to match. And possibly one for the back too.
  14. Pretty sure that's the same one yeah. Yes diff was welded, which was good fun for a while but also a pain. Also had adjustables in the front but they were dodgy as.
  15. No idea. I bought it off a real young guy that had just bought it. He hadn't even driven it really.
  16. Got it from Auckland Cheers. Has NCRCA's and adjustable lower arms at the moment so yes it has mega camber. Yeah still undecided about bumper... Yeah that look is far too common and horrible
  17. Nah just removed. Don't usually like them de-bumpered but it kind of suits this one. Growing on me.
  18. I bought this recently as a quick do up only to find a lot of the parts needed replacing due to someone else's poor work. So after replacing both front hubs and struts and the rear diff it is getting close to being cert-worthy. Should make a sweet daily for a while. Anyway heres a few pics: Let me know what you think...
  19. Place constructive feedback here please...
  20. So I went out and bought an AE85 the other day. Complete minus engine and box. Figured I'd just buy a full setup for it. But strangely enough it's made me more motivated to finish the wagon. So I txt Brendon from Nite Parts and sorted out a 4age-W56 Bellhousing. Very good guy to deal with for those of you who don't know. Also sussed a RWD smallport manifold. So hopefully get it all in and going in the next few weeks. Sorry no pics. Will update when my parts arrive.
  21. Yeh I have read that a solid axle will allow for 1 degree of camber just through heating and bending. But sounds like it's real hard on bearings and not worth the hassle and unreliability.
  22. Cheers guys. Sounds like I'll be making do with the solid axle then...
  23. Anyone looked into swapping in a GX61 IRS setup into a solid axle cressida or cressida wagon for that matter? Will it swap over? I'm after crazy rear camber to tuck in some wide wheels...
  24. Ok so the engine and box are mounted. Sorry about photos, shed was really dark. Fuel is now hooked up, running prelude external pump. Gearbox has moved forward an inch so I'm having a driveshaft spacer made up today. My brother seems to think he can get the wiring done by the end of the week (fingers crossed)... Things left to do: Hook clutch up Cut gearshift hole bigger Put blocks in rear and shorten front springs Build an exhaust
  25. The sale of another one of my vehicles plus a little research has helped me decide on the Altezza Beams 3SGE as the new power house. Main reason being it'll bolt up to my 1C bellhousing. Should have plenty of power for the little wagon but still be driveable. I may have issues with the height of the engine (bonnet clearance) but will deal with that when I get to it. Also sussed out some new wheels... SSR Mesh 14x9 around -10 to -15 offset Need a bit of a tidy up but should look nice when they're done.
