  1. Hey guys we need a bunch of helpers for this weekend at manfeild.

It's the summer championship finals featuring OSCA North vs South Challenge, Pro-7, Super Sedans, Super Mini, Bridgestone Porsche and Formula First, Production racing and the NZV8 Development Series.

The job that most needed to be filled is flag marshalling on saturday morning. Get a great view of the action from the middle of the paddock!

If you are wanting to do it then either show up at manfeild at 8:15 on saturday morning, go the the secretaries office and ask for Julian. He will sort you out. Or give Julian a call on 0275238290 for more information.

    Thanks guys!

  2. ^^^ lol Hope this one doesn't turn into another race debate :P ...

te71 is my fav. Also like any of the corolla coupes. I like 4 door ke70s too. Not many style features. But a very well proportioned car IMO. Handsome stz

not the most flattering pic. Dont like the lights in this exapmle. but my fav shape of all the corollas:

I've always been into that body shape, theres a really cool one with an altezza beams and 45mm webbers that comes to manfeild for racing. Fast car, From hawkes bay somewhere I think. Cant find my pics of it though!

    TE27's are awesome:

And I'll always have a soft spot for Notchback 86's:

  3. ^^ Problem there is that the AE86 etc are good cars NOT for the style, but for the handling and lightweight characteristics. When trying to do the same thing with a celica supra it ends up totally different.

  4. AE86's are Sweet, haters should drive a good one and then rubbish them.

That first car in the thread with the trademe link would be worth close to that money possibly, but it would be more worthwhile to get an AE85 and do a ground-up build.

There was a good buy a while ago, notchback trueno ae86 race car with plastic windows, webbers, cams, seats, belts and wheels for under 5k (I think). Bonus.

  5. They reckon it takes 1000 hours per process to be a proficient welder eh? Which is near impossible to do at home :( .

Night course is good though. I've done half of my one so far and it has helped me so much with all the aspects of welding. But to get good it would take more then 8 lots of 3 hour classes :D .

  6. Everyone should start making electric seat covers. All you need is an electric fence unit, a spare 12v battery (Or connect it to the cars mains if you want :P ), a pair of seat covers and some copper wire.

You thread the copper wire into the covers and connect them up, but in such a way that when no one is sitting there is no continuity. Then when they sit on it, their ass completes the circuit and they wonder WTF is going on... You just have to remember where the hidden switch to turn them off is so you can get in without being defibrillated. Has worked on a mates car in the past. Mike-e and escorta can vouch.
