Got pics of the LF chassis rail? Has it bent any of the crumple zones?
-
^^ those wheels have a passing grade in my books.

Manji day
Lol, how does that show that a wheel grips well? He said they adversely affect grip, no that they pop off the bead . Mega stretched tyres also need more pressure to prevent bead pop right? So there's another traction killer.

Yeah man, agree, but that's not the point of contention, if it was, it certainly wouldn't make it "priceless", just slightly higher valued.
I was pursuing explanation of the concept of sentimental value increasing the perceived monetary value of a vehicle. Perhaps your angle is what was meant. Not important anyway, but it's interesting to get other perspectives on these matters. Chur
Good luck Scrubb.
Fuck you write like a pompus git. Go become an architect or something....

Yes Please. Bonnet from Auckland to Palmy and maybe a gearbox and shaft for Simon.
How much? Will txt.

Ha! That took 5 hours with 2 of us working ed.... I'm pretty sure normal cars are easier as you can unpick the rails.

haha snap, my friend and Markku's friend is one and the same.
... They had serious heart strings to pull and the insurance company understood. Remember the assessor is human.
-
Be firm and demand that you want it fixed since it has heritage in your family.
I had a friend who had an AE85 T-boned outside his house and the insurance company said it was worth nothing. They stood their ground and came out on top in the end (with a straight chassis, new B pillar & quarter panel). It wasn't your fault, so I don't see why they should write it off...
Don't back down. Don't think twice.

Is DOT actually an NZ regulation though? Or do we only need ~~mm over 75% of the tyre surface?
I'd try to go for a semi slick anyway... Or a race wet with the "FOR RACE USE ONLY" sanded off
-
I think it's actually an RM8. Will make a thread when it makes it's way back home.
-
They'd definitely be easier to take snaps of .
Pics from different angles?
-
I'm sorry? Did I say it wasn't going to cost anything? Probably should have.
-
.
May have an RM12 coming my way soon....

I've seen it done before. There were a set of 15" SSR's on trademe a year or so ago that had steel outer bands. It's hard to make them look alloy so Matty B will be sweet.
If it was me I'd want the flange made out of around 5mm steel plate, and would be easy enough to plasma cut yourself if you had a good edge...
-
Yeah you've got it man. I can't afford to upgrade to a G4 at the moment but will look into it down the track... Once I've finished studying.
You don't happen to have a spare VVTi pulley from that engine?
-
^ Bingo. But it's good cause you can place it strategically for balance.

Nah, both of the Silvia's are well developed cars and a lot of the EVO's have stepped up to the NZGT class.
Tony Olivers car is the ex-Mag and Turbo S15 that ran in SuperGT... It's trick. Malcolms S14 is one of the two Enduro cars that was built in Auckland. That and they're both kickass drivers.
There is an evo doing well in the class this year, but he normally does well in the handicap races.
-
Yeah for sure!! Makes the job easy... Just shove it in, walk around the machine and catch it as it arrives - perfectly smooth.
-
Heh, those AP13 Ryobi thicknessers aren't too bad... Just don't get greedy or it'll spit it's cogs!
-
To find tyre size recomendations, just go to the manufacturer's website, click the tyre you want and usually comes up with a list of tyre size vs wheels width
Already been covered....
-
Shit... That'd make a sweet trophy .

I think Rick Bones datsun wears a set of those as well.

Yeah man it gives the car a different feel for sure. These need to have classic detailing to look any good IMO....
There's one that I want to try and buy around here... Going to see what I can do by the end of the year. It's been sitting by a barn for a few years.
