You're almost defnintely right^^
xsspeed - You're still better off duction from the front of the car as it's the clean, cold air that gives you the advantage. The best way is to do it similar to the earlier BTCC cars, they had a big plenium and a big duct heading to the front of the car that was 5-6" in dia.

You won't get 200kw from that engine.... and you don't need it either.
To get that power you'll need a big turbo and a 3TGTE bottom end (for starters).

Pic stolen from Toyspeed.

^^ Awesome.
It sounds like you should make a project thread for this thing.
-
And I'd start by having a look at the box from a J30 Maxima... Although good boxes for those can be hard to find.
-
Hey man, what are you actually asking for? I think this post would be better suited the Tech section, so I've moved it for you.
-
Also, is it possible to run outboards on an ECU with fewer drivers? a.k.a G4 storm... I realise they would have to be batched to work - is that why they won't work?
-
Ahh, thought those back roads looked a bit familliar... You should come over to Manfeild for a fang on the track/drive in the hills.
-
How about front suspension?
-
Yeah, the facelift Silvertop engines go a lot better because the manifold is nicer, so it would make sense if the throttles were slightly different.
Brendan from Garage Dori/Niteparts told me that the silvertop throttles are better when I was starting the Beams conversion because they are a better shape:
I would def use silvertop 42mm throttles, these will flow 280ish hp with standard throttle shafts- so no restriction there really. Much better shape than blacktop with the kidney backs that stall flow......
Standard cams & adj cam wheels are a good way to go, will be more forgiving wen it comes to extactor design too. A good friend of mine just made 240hp@wheels with exactly those mods & silvertop throttles!! Power was still going at 9000rpm! The dyno reads a little more than the one I use, but it still works out to about the same power as mine was.
-
I can't help with the diff, but what has been done to the suspension in this beast? It'll need a bit of work to make it handle.
-
Hurry up and jack it!

They aren't round. I only noticed it when we were modeling a pattern for the intake manifold flanges and round holes didn't work. Like I say though, its only ever so slightly not round, like 2 circles of the same diameter with the circle centre offset by 1mm or so. I’ll try to grab a picture of my sapre silvertop throttle if I can track it down.
That's weird... I'm sure mine were perfectly round. We found used a 43mm drill bit and didn't even need to port match the flange.
-
Sweet!
Where abouts are you from?
-
Punch and flare tools are very expensive... I think my cost was over $100 for a 30mm one.
-
I've gotta ask man WTF is up with that diiirtty "str8 fuckin ruff cunt RB rep rep" shit?? being you, its gota be a piss take right?
If anyone that should be me haha

It's this one^^
We should probably start a "Hansen TVR Chat" topic somewhere cause what I've heard he's doing is different to what has been speculated on here... And it's very unlikely he would have spend 1.2mil on 3xblocks - the whole car owes about that much AFAIK.
/We need more TVR's on OS.
-
Take me for a drive? I need to re-calibrate my seat-of-the-pants dyno.
-
Remove all interior and paint surfaces with Hammerite - problem solved .
Looking good Chris!
-
Sounds like it could be a clutch problem then.
What's the car/engine setup?
-
Have you bled the clutch or checked the clutch master cylinder lately? It could be that the clutch is worn or not engaging properly.
-
$500 is heaps... I can see the raffle working once (if at all) but definitely not every month.
I guess the bonus would be that you'd have a high chance of winning if it was a 15-20 ticket raffle .

The altezza flywheel is a dual-mass item so won't be suitable for the FWD setup. Earlier gen 3S flywheels work fine - I'm using the same one that was on my gen3 motor and there were no problems fitting it. The best idea is to go for an aftermarket light flywheel such as Cusco or Jun.
You should be able to shorten the shafts fairly easily, but is this required?
