Leave your car in there, walk across the track from the Car Club - win.

Oh hi,
So my front lip died on the Western access road earlier this year... Have been driving round with it like this: Happy, but bleeding.
Then it popped a head gasket, spend a few months sitting and Scoots became #1 transport.
It's fixed now and has a temporary honda front lip... Should be good for a year or so .
Took it for a fang at Manfeild on road tyres - was lovely and slippery. I think it wants a set of shells soon though.
That's it from me, bye now.

I've got a couple of vids if the Avenging skids from my incar...
Best OS period skids of the day!

I'm sure we can organise that for you KK.

I'm in!
Who wants my sausage?
-
Normally finishes around 4pm Lee... there's usually a few hundred race cars, so could run later.
I'LL BE THERE... on sunday. A Sat night din din drive would be enjoyable.

Don't let the bbq fall off John .

Normal paint will be fine for those bits.

You should be able to get that effect.

VHT flameproof goes very matte after it's been through a heat cycle, but it's not needed for most parts of your engine. Usually normal paint will survive everywhere apart from the exhaust manifold.
If you're painting cam covers or the engine block it's alright to use standard paint - it will get a little soft when it heats up but it sticks well in general.
If it's an exhaust manifold you're painting, either live with the matte finish or send it to be coated (HPC, Procoat etc).

Almost guaranteed to be there.
-
Don't think I'll make this...
-
There's no code written on them normally... You just have to know what it is.
Pics? Hiace is normally G series I think.
-
^ Or do that.

Also, the process for rolling the rear guards with a bar would be a lot easier with the rear on a higher setting - so the bar can fit. Otherwise you'll need to jack the rear to get it in there and that gets really rough.
You need one person to hold the bar and roll it across the tyre and another 2/3 people to push the car forward slowly (many hands make light work).

Have you done a wheel alignment Dave?
It needs a lot more castor and you need to make sure the toe is straight - otherwise the tyres will die.... And you may as well pull in some camber at the same time.
Go see Miles at Budget Tyres - he'll know what to do.
-
Oh, and dial some camber in at the front. That's where you need your camber.
Edit: Roof red. SAY NO TO BLACK ROOFS!
Black roof is all G on an MX5... Keeps the soft top look.
Good stuff Dave, it looks much better now. I agree with many others, pull a lot more camber into the front (at least 2.5') and it will start to handle much better. What coilovers do you have in there now?
What are you going to use the car for? Raising the rear would be practical if you want to enjoy the twisties.

Here's an idea of how we run it normally.
-
Haha, no need for grip OR airfilters at this event .
-
Good shit Richie .
Drive, smash, fix - repeat.
-
Do it!
I'll be there in my AW11 - skids on.

Round 8 of the Manawatu Toolshed Road and Track series is an Autocross on the Manfeild Back track.
This is a basic event and is great for first time competitors. The format is relaxed and you get plenty of chances to test your skills.
If you have never done a Motorsport event before, this one is your chance. Almost anyone can enter this event - only a helmet and overalls are required. No license or club membership needed.
Enter via the Car Club entrance on Kawakawa Rd. Documentation and scrutineering from 8:30am. Racing starts at 10AM.
Pre-entries $45 (by Wednesday) or $65 on the day. To pre-register email Julian on manawatucarclub@xtra.co.nz
For more information go to http://www.motorsportmanawatu.org.nz
