Can definitely imagine that! Some scrutineers go blind with "power" too - I've seen an argument between a competitor and scrutineer over a 10c sized hole in the bottom of his overalls... at a clubsport basic event (sprints). "If there's a huge fire, you might get a bit of a burn on your arse."

AFAIK you shouldn't paint a plastic helmet because it can eat into it and make it unsafe.

(i) ABS and Polycarbonate helmets shall not be painted,

(ii) Composite shell helmets may only be painted with a paint approved by the

helmet manufacturer,

I've never heard of issues with stickers unless someone has slapped a second hand bumper sticker over a huge crack etc... Tasteful stickers / graphics schemes are fine.

And don't paint your helmet unless it's made of the right stuff.

I know theres quite a few down the south island, mainly BMW's racing in some touring car class that looks like it was set up just for them?

I haven't seen any of late. Seem to recall that there was a Peugeot supertourer kicking around quite a few events for a while but nothing recently.

This is the closest we get on a regular basis (ec Tom's 1600cc JTCC) and rumour has it that Chris Turnbull has a 2L, 18" wheeled, 1 nut supertourer version too... But I'd say it will be a while before we see that.

^^ That thing has done a 1.17.5 around Manfeild and anyone who knows the track will understand that is a f*&king fast time for a 1600.
