Very cool man.
Looks like a lot of fun.
Shame to take out the cage, but I get it about the extra drama not being worth it.
If you are thinking about selling those seats, let me know, could be interested

Just going through this at the moment with the b1600.
Rust repairs have blown the budget out, but paint is apparently going to be about $2.5k.
That's mates rate cash price.
Materials cost what they cost. Labour has to be paid for, it's not a 5 minute job.
Don't even ask what I spent on the rx2 that I don't use.

Umm, 13 years waiting for me to put my rx2 back together, and never once nagging or bitching about it. ( well to me, that is )
I can understand her reluctance in letting me pull her ute apart.

Thats a serious looking piece of kit.
Someone put some love into that wee ute.
Oh, and NO ! Was the answer when I showed Becky.
Didn't even get to say anything. Haha.

Shit. I'd really be in the dog box if I got anymore carried away with it.
I keep giving her shit about bags, c notch, and rotary, and the looks I get are not good.

We both were split on the stripe, but it had to go.
Not our flavor, maybe if it was mazda blue.
Ky, Becky would kill me if I sell her wheels, I would like them to be a bit wider but , it's not up to me .
I'm already in a heap of trouble for going over board.

A place to not tell me off for spending too much money on another car .
Hopefully a sweet looking ute will calm a very unimpressed wife.

The rust was removed from around the wiper panel, and as expected, there was far more than you could see.
Then with the rear glass out a small amount of rust was starting in the frame, so that was fixed, a previous impact on the front edge of the bonnet needed looking at and then and then and then, you get it.
Beckys planed small tidy up has hit a bump (me) and has snowballed . woops.
But in good news, the wellside will have a new floor and the ute will be ten times tidier than before, and that sweet racing stripe will be gone.

So June last year, on another ute pick up mission, Becky spotted a wee b1600 sitting sad and unloved in the back yard of a Timaru workshop.
It looked solid enough with only a small amount of rust in the wiper panel, but the floor of the wellside was long gone, but the rego was on hold, and was in overall tidy condition.
Where it was sitting for 10 years

No being a dick at all.
I'd go for the holden one over trying to fit the ford one if I was you.
They are bloody solid, so if it didn't fit right it would be a shit to tweek or modify .
I'm sure the os gc courier service should be able to sort out the pick up problem with the one on trademe.
Or, you could sell the holden and get yourself the much more superior au falcon wagon, and then I could supply the correct fitting barrier .
but of course, finding someone willing to sell their au wagon would be harder than finding the holden barrier.
what a conundrum

Will get measurements this afternoon.
Please hold caller.

My father has a cargo barrier out of an AU wagon sitting in the shed, that he wants sold.
Don't know if it will fit, but happy to measure if you want.

The old toxic 2 .
The 2000's where hard on old cars.
I remember dvs 3 having a full Savanah dash painted white.
Could you imagine someone doing that now.

You sound like all my mates.
One day. One day.

A little bit .
Unbolted the garage door and rolled it out to wash the last 2years dust off it about 2 weeks ago.
I got the under dash tray repaired and relined a few months ago.
Just super busy with work this year, but the boss just paid me out for my unused holidays from this year, I had 3 days off, so I might treat myself to an exhaust .
But on the bright side, I've pulled the wifes b1600 apart and dropped it off at my mates panel shop.
So thats another running car I've pulled to bits ☺

Ah, absolutely the right place.
What sort of budget ?
What size wheels do you want to run?
You can go with anything from using FD brakes to a full custom set up with wilwood"s .
with lowering it, it all comes down to what your after, fully sick slammed out unusable, or lower and better handling.
As you will know, there is little to nothing off the shelf for the old rx's.
To do both right (work well and pass cert) is expensive.
Les Hunter would be one to talk to, he did my rx2 sedan, and I know he is in the middle of doing another rx2 coupe.
Also Pics are compulsory haha.

Cheers for that.
Will sort the screen rust and try for a wof.

By the sounds of it the aussies had a few dramas at rotary revival as well.
At least one rx3 with a stoved in front.
So surprised that REunion hasn't had any problems.
Always that one tweaker dead set on fucking up someone's day.

Bye bye racing strip, rust and dents.
