right so next question, who in the aranui area deals in dxs or 86s, cos sooner or later this shits gonna end up in a conversion
Yep. you wouldn't take a car too far from home to dump it if it had no suspension or running gear.
Very strange they didn't strip it right out, seeing as they had it for so long
Feel bad for the owner.
-
Once again, I'm behind the times.
Doh
-
Sad thing is, that car is gone.
If the parts haven't been stripped and sold, then the whole car will be rebirthed.
Just another mint car gone forever.
I can just about guess they are half way through doing the new camo door trims.

As far as I was ever told, as long as they were bright enough when lit it didn't matter, but you had to have a reflector on the back of the car. So tinting your tail lights voided the reflector.
This was all back in the day when we did the old black pantyhose over the tail lights, and my wof man let me off if I put a reflector somewhere else, so I got some small bike reflectors and stuck them to the edge of the number plate.
Mind you, that was all back in the day when cops didn't hate on anyone with a modified car, so now I would guess, the wrong cop would still give you shit for them if he felt like it.
Ask a wof man.

Damn. Dirty old turbo mags look bloody mean in black. who woulda thought.
My old TA ended up on trade me not long after I originally posted this up.

Stunning white Datsun 1600 on starsharks parked up on the side of the road in Halswell on Saturday.
And mint looking red rx2 sedan rolling through Ashburton on Sunday afternoon.
No pics of either, as I hate being "that guy" out with his cell taking pictures
-
Was parked up on Halswell jnt rd.
Yeah, few rotas in Halswell, I've got a young guy a couple houses behind mine with a very tidy looking silver s2 rx7, sounds so crisp. He also has a black batty with ulgy headlights.
-
Spotted a series 3 RX2 sedan sitting on a trailer today in Halswell. chch.
Silver, simmons, low. No glass, engine or interior.
Almost a carbon copy of mine.
-
Haha and the HT leads.
That shit hurts

There is this option for your existing dash.
-
There was a guy selling them on Ausrotary, and they do turn up on ebay now and again.
-
Is the down side of the mazda rotary.
thanks to the high number of knuckle draging, knumbnuts that own them, Mazda NZ don't have a hell of alot of patience for anyone asking questions about parts form them. ( can you imagine some of the calls they get ? )
The best way, I've found, to get taken seriously when asking about parts is to have the part numbers for the parts your after.
This page should be helpfull

I can't say if anything will be available though.

I got my full rubber kit from these guys.
http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/
Very high quality, and not too bad price wise.
-
In regards to your sun faded rear boot panels, I had the same problem with my rear parcel tray plastics.
My panel guy had a Wurths product that comes in a spray can that we used, comes out in a fine crackel look, made it look like new, only comes in black mind you.
I can find out the product name if your interested.
btw, your rx looks amazing, love the og look. Has made me very keen to get an stock rx7, if one ever turns up

I'm not shitting on Andy, I don't even know the guy.
I just think he has a very nice ae86, and what he has done, has not done the car any favours.
If it is just a tempoary job untill he can find the right sheild, then all good.
But the fact that they are not the factory extractors would mean slight mods are not out of the question, and I'd hate to see him make silly mistakes, just for lack of knowledge.
-
Any reason why you didn't go for heat wrap on the extractors, rather than making up that heat sheild ?
It would appear you want to keep the car original, but with subtle mods, and that sheild is anything but subtle.
I don't mean to sound like a twat, and I'm sure the sheild will work, but it looks a bit shit.
-
Ok try now
-
Not sure if this has been posted before or not, but still bloody awesome.
Watch all the parts in the vid, loads automatically:

Can't rate Steve Allan auto refinishers high enough.
Has a great wee shop at 85 Hawdon st, and Steve is a great guy, (did all the work on my car, and I've yet to find anyone who can fault it.)

I got told about this place from Pauls car audio, a while ago, but never did any more about it. http://www.gpstracking4u.co.nz/
Unit costs about $600.
Not sure I want to be paying a monthly fee for a unit though.
Just wanted to know if anyone else could recommend a brand.
