  1. Owned an e46 328 for 7 years, one of the best cars I've had.

Suspension and diff bushes all had to be replaced, but it was 90mm off the ground, soooo kinda expected.

Had only done half the km's of what your looking at when I sold it, but loved driving it every time, so balanced.

Parts arn't cheap, but what modern car has cheap parts, and no matter what anyone says, all modern cars have their problems.

I use a territory for work, and parts for that thing are fucken expensive, and it needs them always. piece of shit.

Wife has a mk5 gti golf, but wont when the warrenty runs out. VW charge double what anyone else would.

  2. Sounds like the neighbour has a mate thats a cop, and a fucking big chip on his sholder.

If the cops can do you for ripping it up on your own property, things have gotten bloody low in NZ. I'm sure they have a few more important things to be doing.

It's not like you were in the middle of town doing skids on your drive. Rural have different rules on noise than town.

Les Hunter is fucked as well, has the canterbury car club Gymkhana on his property, gate open as well.

I'm all for the knocking on the neighbours door and asking "What the fuck !!?"

If actions on private property can be prosecuted, then I'm fucked. I'm always ripping up the paddocks, shooting at shit, and on the odd occasion, blowing things up.

  3. Also I may have a full wiring schematics if you need

Cheers for the offer, I've got 3 different wiring schematics and not one of them matches my wiring 100%

It's not too bad, I made up my own wiring plans when I pulled it appart and deloomed the engine bay.

It's funny how the rx2's are starting to be liked more.

10 years ago, bugger all people wanted a 2, everyone wanted a 3.

Always thought the rx2's had a much better styled body.

  4. If gas usage is an issue, don't get a rotary.

Saying that, any early 90's rx7 is still a 20 year old rotary, so you will want to factor a rebuild into the purchase price (even if the seller said "fresh rebuild" ).

Kept stock 13bt, and maintained well , you should get 100000kms easy. modifiy it and it's like any other engine, the quality of the build dictates the life of the engine.

I don't know if I'd want an rx7 as my only car, too many arseholes out there, I'd be way to paranoid to leave it anywhere.

  5. Yeah the series 3 rx2 really got a bum deal in the factory steering wheel department.

As damn shiney as I've made the car, I'm not really down for the billet wheel.

The sparkly red wheel is so cool, but I don't think my mazda could pull that off.

Not really a wood wheel person, they just don't feel right.

Starting to sound like a picky little bitch.

At this point I think I'll look out for a nardi classic and a momo prototipo.

  6. Have been on the hunt for a steering wheel for my rx2.

I've picked up a few over time, but they are just not right.

I'm looking for something small and thick with the right period style for my standard dash (no, to anyone who is thinking wildcat)

I've looked at trade me and a few hot rod shops, and the options there are "drift crap" or "grants" .

So, any ideas ?  what would be your dream old school jap wheel ? and where do I find one ?

I don't want a standard rx2 wheel, they are a great wall hanger, just not something I want in the car.

  7. That is the best fucken idea ever. why didn't I think of this ?!!!

I just wired up my mates new workshop, and that would have been awesome. Way better than the 2 fluros he cable tied to a sack barrow .

    Damn it.

  8. My vote for the coon too.

But if your not after a boat. the wifes got a mk5 golf gti and that thing goes like stink with very little effort, handles like a gocart, and will seat 4 full sized adults easy (I'm 6 foot 6, and I have heaps of room). cops will never look at you.

If you look at what the poms do with them, I'd say a very underated car in NZ.

Or the easy answer. Have less mates and get a coupe.
