  1. Because 13b. Would have been 12a from Factory. Plus there is probably suspension and other stuff that i didn't read the auction to know about.

    meh ... to be honest not many people would ping you on that for a WOF, sure it 'technically' needs a cert, but if those mods are done properly then I wouldnt bother.  Suspension seems normal, low springs, shortened shocks, nothing special there.   Just one of those things depending on who the WOF person was, and if they knew the 13B wasnt factory.  Then again, a simple die grind of the housing to remove the '13B' markings and you're away laughing.

  2. common guys don't burst the kids bubble!

    I had big dreams with my escort when I was 18 as well.  None of them eventuated, but I certainly dreamed about it.

    Go and build what ever you wanna build man.

    Although web forums are full of people asking simple questions, with big dreams and projects that never really make it off the ground.

    But that's part of learning / growing up.

    Enjoy it!

    I think that's what i kinda like about the plastic bumper ones.

    Like a shrunken VK commodore.

    Sometimes yes ... That one above especially ^^^ mainly due to ride height i think though,

    Bring them a little closer to the weeds and they can look pretty sweet i think,

    Here's my old series 1; I used to like the way it looked  :)

  5. Don't strip them, ever time you do there is one less in the world and most of them got wrecked already in crashes & stuff.

    Theoretically just toying with the idea that the idea of importing a left hook series 1-3 to NZ would / could be possible to break even or make some money if you were to find 1 nice one, get that road registered in NZ, then find another 1 or 2 rougher cars (depending on container size) to bring back then sell as parts.  Stripping down a rough car isnt a bad idea, especially if it's helping other people finishing off their projects.

    Finding something nice like this;

    Then packing something like these in the container to strip back in NZ;

  6. I have thought about it but realistically no one wants/needs left-hook specific parts which would all go to waste. I even doubt anyone would want the rear storage bin setup.

    True true, body panels / trim / driveline / suspension bits n pieces would all add up $$$ though.  I remember striping a series 1 years ago, and got way more money for all the little bits n pieces than i thought i would.

    Surely things like door cards, gearbox surrounds , those sort of things would be the same also.

    Just sounds like I'm talking myself into doing this  :-)

  7. What Jonny said.

    I also need tidier interior bits for mine.

    Also judging from this, they are worth moonbeams here.

    That will never sell for that price, would be worth 7-8k max and it'd have to look better in person than it does in the pictures  :doubt:

    It'd be good to try and fit 2-3 1st gen rx7's in a container from the states and bring over to NZ. find a nice tidy one to keep, and part out the other two to break even / maybe profit?
