  1. has any1 actually seen the results of using valvemaster?

because there is no guarantee or statement by them saying

it will prevent valve seat corrosion ...

just wondering if its actually worth using?

  2. ":2mnagxtz]oh was my mates car wasnt even damaged that bad aye dunno why he sold it but yea the moter still goin sweet?

yeh man, the engine is all good, the carb that he had on it was f**kd,

so im sorting all the little things out ... got a elec dizzy for it, new plugs

leads etc, getting a new 4barrel for it too,

so hoping its out n about again soon

  3. ":24gq5b4j]did u buy the parts 7 off dan from hams with the 13b bridgie in it out of pimp rx van?

yeh used that car as a doner for the engine,

sold the rest of the running gear and most of the interior parts out of it too, pretty much made my money back on the car :D

    why you ask?

  4. papakura engine specialist in takanini are real good when it comes to stuff like this.

but yeh, save a bit more coin before you start ringing round or going to places looking for quotes

  5. cracks me up,

im another 'rotary lover' on this site, and would agree with what rxsumo said,

its nothing new, and there's already a lexus v8 series 5 rx7 that

always enters burnout comps. so his idea aint anything knew, apart

from that he wants to do it to a rx3, which will just make it more expensive for himself

noticed a few comments about people hating rotaries tho?

why is this, i dont actually hate any type of car, i mite not like them

as much as i like rotaries, but it seems funny that people passionately

hate something as silly as an engine

  6. I might be coming up, been last couple years. dunno though with the start of uni and all. will mish up if some other wellington peps are going etc.

oldrx7, whats wrong with the sev not to race? saw it last year tearing up mad stock 12a stz. looked staunch though.

haha, yeh it was a bit of a laugh, slow as hell, but heaps of fun,

the carb is rooted, and need a new radiator as its leaking a bit, so

dont see myself coming up with enough cash b4 then to get it fixed

  7. Lookin good there!!!

the crager modgies look real good, better than mangel ones imo.

the paint original, or just original colour, looks good anyways.

the sticker :? not too sure, its not even proper bombing, just that

font that you can get off the web, printed onto a sticker,

if you like that style (stickers down the side) you should try finding

some1 that can do proper bombing and make it up, but that aint cheap,

    so yeh ...

looks way better than the crown 8)

  8. Ahaha sell a series one 7 for an Escort project

    well yeh i guess you could say that;

although i've owned the escort longer, took it off the road about 5

    years ago to do panel/paint,

but got distracted by the 7 along the way 8)

so it'l be making way to continue the escort once i've got it going

perfect and had my fun with it :D

  9. top man... sell rx to finance escort

    good to hear!

i would have kept it standy but hell, looks great and must go well too

almost bought me a series1 but turned out to have a rusty xmember and down/inside/back of the boot so i left it.

    nice tho

yeh lots of them are rusty as, or full of bog,

mine aint perfect, photos are always decieving :D but the paint is original, so i know the little imperfections here and there .... its got a tiny patch of rust (smaller than 5c piece) near the petrol flap, but thats about it, and it hasnt grown over the 2 years that i've owned the car which is good ...

i cant keep a car standard aye, i like buying them when they're standy, but have to modify it, just the way i am 8)

and as for selling the rx to finance the escort ... well thats true,

but i wonder whats gonna be powering the escort

  10. aww why'd you get rid of the trash can lids hahaha :D

Looks the goods mate. Some people prefer the series 2 or 3 because of electric windows and rear disc brakes etc., but I prefer the simplicity of the Series 1.

 still got the standy alloys, just sitting in the garage in the corner ...

yeh i think i prefer the series 2-3 because of the bumpers and the front guards, they look more sleek if you know what i mean,

but the series 1 is what started it all, and i found this one when i wasnt

really looking for another car, and couldnt say no :D

will probably sell it within the nxt year or so (once i've got it running right)

    and put the money towards my escort project;

this is what it looked like about 6 odd years ago

  11. yeh it does seem that most people either have to get new skool bling

    chromies, or modgies ...

doesnt seem to be any other rims out there

at the nats show 'n' shine, was good to see an rx3 with some 15" superlights on it, looked really good too

this aint the best pic, but gives you an idea

  12. im liking the tow bar...

    whats it towing? hahaha

haha, wat a smart arse aye

well i got it from napier about 2 years ago, like this, with the towbar,

havent been bothered taking it off, i dont mind it actually, saves

my rear bumper if someone bumps into me i guess

    howigotit10ph.jpg

stock as a rock, but the standy 12a was pretty smoky,

so lowered it, put mags on it, raced it at meremere,

then sold the 12a, and found another wrecked rx7 with a decent 13b

bridgeport in it, and have put that in ... and current looks like this ...

  13. take in your standard springs (if you still have them) and say

'i'd like a set of these made up, but 2" (or whatever) lower, and they'll ask how much stiffer you want them,

just ask for a comfortable but firm ride, and you'll be sorted.

  14. was an awesome days drag racing,

a bit of competition between the classes, but overall seemed a

fun and friendly event, well organised and a great turn out

    of top cars.

although, these were the top lot of the imports, and just average

v8's, no where near the proper v8 drag cars doing 6's etc.

the kiwi re rx7 ran awesome! and the heat treatments skyline was

sooo close, only 0.01 second behind the yellow camaro on their

    first run, was exciting stuff!

  15. you 'legally' cant, but if you smooth them off so it looks nice n tidy,

then really no one is going to know,

just check that your car can clear the extra suspension travel,

ie; your diff might hit the floor etc.
