  1. i bet half the people who have owned a escort as there first have brought another one since

    yep thats true!

Bought this as my 1st car, was standard when i got it, lowered it, got wheels, then crashed it. kinda fixed it, stripped it for panel/paint new engine .... that was over 8 years ago now

  2. this is my 83 Hiace, ex Maui camper from the 80's.. lol

using it for surf missions over summer. managed to score front 79 model chrome bumper, just looking for a rear now.

    that looks wicked man!

could always get the bumper cromed i guess but would be expensive.

  3. ":3vyxh6wr]also heard that they are looking at stopping the re-vinning on old cars??

    Real? That ain't cool

    Thats gota be BS

My local Lady at the VTNZ is pretty handy when it comes to getting car info etc.

I don't need to know my donor history anyhow im swapping plates lols

If you have the plates, cant you put them into that carjam website and actually buy the report? That shows why it failed

a wof, last inspection etc etc doesnt it?

As for keeping the black plates, if the rego is on hold then yep, you get to just simply put on a rego payment and keep the

plates, if its been 'de-regd' then no, a new vin number is assigned to the vehicle and you get issued with new plates.

You could spend the money and buy the personalised plate of your old plate, and just run the black plates though.

  4. holy shit

Yeah BJs was fun to wander around in, pity they had to level the place so they could build that campervan yard (or whatever the hell it is now)

Car yard now aint it? For fresh imports and shit?

I got a few bits from them, was a big shame when they shut up

yeh i used to always wander around in there too. used to hide parts i wanted in other cars

till i had enough money to come back another day and buy them

  5. only a hr?i went out to keates place in rangoon, blew 3hours walking round drooling out there..but im a rotor feign

    is that the infamos mazfarm?

i'd be keen on doing a tour when i get down there bro! just over a week till im down there 8)

  6. yeh pretty sure you can do that, if you pop into the VTNZ, or anywhere that issues rego plates. You might have to wait till its WOF'd though?

Just say you lost them, or they were stolen, pretty sure you have to pay more than the normal $12.50 or what ever it normally is to swap plates over, but yeh, it can be done

  7. a few tyre shops sell em new.

i paid $150 per tyre from drury tyres in auckland. Kemeu tyres do them slightly cheaper.

thats 175 or 185/80/13. 'cooper trendsetters'

you may be able to get other sizes etc. the painted on ones dont last as long, tend to fade to a grey pretty

    quick.

but its up to you. If you've just bought new tyres on the bickies you've got, you may as well get 'paint ons' but

if you dont have any tyres yet, you may as well get the proper ones.

  8. sweet, i just did some google research and yeh, appears to be W50.

and sorry, i paid alot more for it 3 years ago.

not sure if i got shafted or not but i'll do some more 'price' research and see how much they're worth

    $300 ono ???

  9. Hey there fulla's!

Bought this gearbox about 3 years ago, got told it was a celica W50 box.

Its got 33111-20090 10 on the gearbox

33141-20090 is on the back part.

and 3038E 7505D is on the bell housing.

  10. Council permission usually equals $$$ though ...

For the 1st one, you'd want to make it a free event, for both the organisers and spectators/entrants. Just so no1 ends up loosing out

big time due to slack organising or fuck all people showing up.

An informal, cruze/meet up/bbq etc would be a great idea.

There's a few places you could use. Could go out to Maeratae in Auckland, or up to the Domain. All you need is someone to bring a bbq

or two, a few chilly bins with some drinks and you'd have a small fun

    social gathering. :D
