  1. How bout gilmer type belt drive? Sounds like you need to change pulley sizes, smaller crank pulley would do the trick. But if you are going to get custom pulleys made, why not go to a gilmer belt drive, they are a lot more forgiving. They are self aligning, they require less belt tension making it easier on bearings. And the best reason..... they look f%^&ing cool!
  2. I think the factory ratios are 4.4, 4.1, 3.9, 3.7, 3.5. There are plenty of aftermarket crownwheel and pinion sets available. I have seen 5.3:1 ratios in BDA rally cars
